A long term, inside IR35 opportunity exists for a Section Engineer/Sub Agent/Package Manager with specific experience related to the management and coordinating of buried services/utilities for a tier one principal contractor on a large project with many services. Your proven ability to manage the utilities package in its entirety, which includes locating, identifying, achieving solutions, planning, pricing, risk mitigation, issuing of permits, subcontractor supervision, to hand over, is sought Key Responsibilities include - To develop, manage and implement processes for the detection and protection of all services. To ensure these works are undertaken so as to prevent any possible delay to the main construction programme. To identify solutions and to work with Designers to finalise the designs To liaise with service providers to obtain relevant and updated information Manage the early contractor involvement. To approve permits-to-dig and maintain records of permits issued To ensure that all service positions are physically marked out. To ensure all staff and subcontractors are briefed and aware of relevant services To contribute to the development of WPP s and Task Briefs. To supply input into producing the budget and the pricing work packages, To ensure that there is an accurate understanding of all service information at all stages of construction. To work with other disciplines to assist in developing the scope of temporary, civils, M&E needed to facilitate the delivery to the programme of the main civils works. To collaborate with permanent and TW, civils and M&E Designers, sub-contractors, CRE, TOC, Utility suppliers, M&E Manager and the civils delivery team. Requirements for this opportunity include - Preferably a civil engineering qualification and having progressed through the civil engineering route. Must demonstrate extensive experience managing the full cycle of a multi-utilities package. Experience in a similar position (Section Eng/Sub Agent/Package Manager) for a tier one contractor of a large project, preferably within the rail sector. Proficient in managing staff and subcontractors as well as the processes. Meticulous, firm, a bit strict and willing to take ownership of the package. The Site Engineer is responsible for supervising other junior engineers and assisting in the construction operations. You will be required to liaise with the Sub Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant, and materials to carry out works activities to the required standards, programme, and budget. You will work with the other team members of the setting-out team and be responsible for the performance and development of the junior engineers, as well as identifying and resolving technical problems on site in liaison with the senior team and Sub-Agent. You will also monitor and coordinate subcontractors in the performance of their works, ensuring they are completed to the contractual requirements. Ensuring that the team has all current information and resources required to carry out their duties, you will be required to assist with the production of programmes, progress reports, resource and cost plans, and contribute to financial forecasting. The successful candidate will have experience with road works including streetlighting/CCTV and motorway comms. Responsibilities will include: Managing the construction of a section of works Review designs and raise technical queries to the design teams. Ensure your team keeps an accurate and detailed site record for all works Ensure you and your engineers raise requisitions for plant and materials in a timely and accurate manor. Ensure quality records are captured and stored correctly. Generate Non-Conformance Records and ensure these are promptly closed out.
