Carmichael UK is working with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor delivering the HS2 project in Birmingham . We are seeking an experienced Agent / Site Agent to take ownership of the delivery of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping packages on this nationally significant infrastructure scheme. The Role As Agent, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of site activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to programme, and in line with quality requirements. This role will suit a strong leader who can drive works forward , manage multiple workstreams, and coordinate site teams effectively. Key Responsibilities Lead the delivery of earthworks, drainage, and landscaping works across your section Manage bulk earthworks, cut & fill, formation, and associated civils activities Oversee drainage works including deep drainage, culverts, and attenuation systems Coordinate hard and soft landscaping works and manage interfaces with adjacent packages Manage and supervise Sub Agents, Site Engineers, supervisors, and subcontractors Ensure works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications, RAMS, and programme Monitor progress, resolve technical and delivery issues, and report to senior management Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance About You Proven experience as an Agent / Site Agent on major civil or infrastructure projects Strong background in earthworks and drainage ; landscaping experience advantageous Experience working for a Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractor Confident managing site teams and subcontractors and driving delivery on site SMSTS and CSCS (essential) Organised, proactive, and solutions-focused approach

Carmichael UK is working in partnership with a leading Tier 1 civil engineering contractor to recruit an experienced General Foreman to support the delivery of major infrastructure works on HS2 in Birmingham. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a high-profile project delivering earthworks, drainage, and associated civils works . The Role As General Foreman, you will take responsibility for supervising site activities, managing operatives and subcontractors, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme. You will be a key link between the engineering and construction teams, driving productivity on site. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate earthworks, groundworks, and drainage operations Manage gangs, plant, and subcontractors on site Ensure works are carried out in line with drawings, RAMS, and programme requirements Maintain high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance Coordinate daily site activities and resolve on-site issues Support the engineering and site management teams with progress and planning Deliver toolbox talks and ensure workforce engagement with safety standards About You Proven experience as a General Foreman / Works Foreman on major civil engineering projects Strong background in earthworks and drainage (highways or infrastructure experience preferred) Experience working for a Tier 1 or major civil engineering contractor SMSTS or SSSTS and CSCS (essential) Confident leader with a proactive, hands-on approach Ability to drive works forward and maintain productivity on site
