The Sizewell C (SZC) project requires an Engineering Manager to lead, manage and coordinate construction engineering for the Enabling Works and Earthworks portions during the delivery phase. The role is site based to ensure Engineering Delivery Excellence through adoption of engineering processes, procedures and best practice. The scope of the Earthworks and Enabling works forms the initial portion of the Civil Works Programme for the SZC project and includes the construction of significant civil engineering elements critical to the construction and operation of SZC. These include access bridges, sea defence, retaining structures, environmental barriers, TBM Launch Shafts and marine delivery structures. The Engineering Manager will manage right first-time delivery of engineering activities, coordinating across the disciplines of Methods, Temporary/Permanent Works, Digital Engineering, Quality, Materials and Survey. The Engineering Manager will be required to establish the organisation and resource structure with the skills and experience to deliver the project technical requirements for a section of these works. Successful management will involve working alongside technical leads for pre-construction and engineering disciplines, client and stakeholders to manage complex technical interfaces. The complexity of the works will require that the Engineering Manager is able to work in collaboration with support functions including procurement, commercial, information management, digital engineering and project controls to ensure that robust project management principles are in place to support efficient delivery. The Engineering Manager will be required to establish and manage a delivery strategy in accordance with the procedures set out by the industry, the Civil Works alliance and Sizewell C. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will provide strategic legal support, guidance, and management to the Sizewell C Civil Works Alliance on contractual matters throughout all phases of the civil works programme of the Sizewell C project. This role requires experience in construction law, ideally in high value energy/infrastructure projects, and familiarity with NEC contracts and U.K. laws and regulations. You will work closely with the CWA's Lead Legal Counsel, internal teams, project & partners stakeholders, and external advisors to mitigate risks, ensure compliance, and protect the Civil Works Alliance's interests. Principal Accountabilities, Activities and Decisions Assist with drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts, subcontracts, consultant appointments and NDAs in line with project requirements and goals. Work closely with members of the Procurement and Commercial teams to put in place required contracts and subcontracts within required project timescales and to help achieve project goals. Ensure compliance with applicable laws, industry regulations, and project-specific requirements. Advise project teams on legal issues, potential risks, and mitigations. Assist in developing the CWA's suite of contracts (based on NEC contracts) to be used when procuring works/service from the supply chain. Helping to create processes, policies and documentation to help embed key contractual requirements into the day-to-day operations of the Civil Works Alliance. Risk Management & Dispute Resolution Identify potential legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Internally manage disputes, claims, and litigation that may arise during the project. The CWA is seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager (Backfill) to play a pivotal role in the delivery of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. Working within the Main Civil Works (MCW) team, this role will lead the planning, technical development and delivery of a major backfill package involving approximately 3 million m of material across the Sizewell C site. The successful candidate will be accountable for: Leading the pre construction planning and delivery of the Backfill package within Main Civil Works. Collaborating with design, engineering and delivery teams to develop safe, sustainable and buildable solutions for permanent and temporary works Supporting the development of 3D and 4D construction models, validating construction methodologies, sequencing and programme assumptions Contributing to technical decision making on material suitability, site trials and innovative backfill solutions. Career Area: Project Management & Business Change European Pressurised Reactor Programme Manager/ Change Manager Sizewell C's business is to design, finance, construct, commission, operate, maintain, and eventually decommission the nuclear power plant and related infrastructure at Sizewell C in Suffolk. Overall, whilst the Company is in the construction phase, the Boards' principal focus is on the development and construction of Sizewell C on time, on budget and to the highest quality and safety standards. The Company is maturing to meet all these requirements. Sizewell C is economically regulated by OFGEM under the RAB model similar to other UK electricity distribution networks and Thames Tideway. Sizewell C construction strategy is to replicate the design of Hinkley Point C, using the majority of the same supply chain, but innovating in the way it is delivered to achieve savings in time and cost of around 20%. The CCO will need to be guided by and incorporate lessons learned from the Hinkley Point C commercial delivery to achieve Sizewell C's ambition.
