Joining as a Software Engineer Consultant, you will have real ownership of technical delivery, working side by side with clients to architect and build software that has tangible, lasting impact. Key Responsibilities Collaborating with clients to understand their software engineering needs and objectives. Designing, developing, testing, and implementing high-quality software solutions using industry best practices and coding standards. Utilising your expertise in various programming languages, frameworks, and technologies to architect robust and scalable systems. Developing secure, clean, efficient, and well documented code, ensuring quality through testing, debugging, and reviews. Staying up to date with the latest trends, tools, and technologies in software engineering and sharing your knowledge with the team. Collaborating with project managers to ensure successful project delivery within the defined timelines and budget. Supporting client engagements, including pitches and presentations. Key Requirements Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related field. Professional experience as a software engineer, preferably in a consultancy or industry setting. Experience with multiple programming languages, including Python, Java, C++, Rust, or Go. Experience with associated software development frameworks and tools such as pytest and OpenAPI. Experience working in Unix / Linux environments. Knowledge of database systems and proficiency in database query languages / tools. Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum, in particular iterative approaches to software development in conjunction with the client. Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Google Cloud. Familiarity with DevOps practices and principles, such as CI / CD pipelines, containerisation (e.g. Docker) and associated orchestration. We are recruiting for a Project Manager on behalf of a Fintech business based in St Albans. The successful candidate will lead a team through the project lifecycle by planning, scheduling and tracking a project plan on assigned projects. They will ensure that bespoke software solutions are delivered to clients within the timescales required and to the quality expected, making sure all deliverables fall within the applicable scope and budget. Key Responsibilities Working closely with external client Project Managers and stakeholders to understand business requirements and project scope. Leading Business Requirements gathering and workshops, ensuring completion of as-is and to-be documentation. Working with business analysts and developers to ensure that optimum fit solutions are designed and BRD and functional solution specifications are documented. Defining Project Plans covering key deliverables, resource requirements, budget and work plan using appropriate tools and techniques. Advising the IT Programme and Project Manager of significant departures from the agreed plans. Working with the IT Programme and Project Manager and Head of IT to agree the scheduling of all development, testing and releases to production. Managing, monitoring and motivating the cross functional teams assigned to the project. Ensuring that defined governance processes are followed for the full project lifecycle through to testing and Live Installation. Key Requirements Ideally 2-3 years' experience gained in successful project implementation in a software delivery environment. Experience gained in the Financial Services sector is key for the role. Experience across the full project lifecycle, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, control and closure. PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner or recognised Project Management accreditation. Competent with MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project 2010.
