Initial project is based in Dunbar with future projects all in the Lothian & Borders area. Your duties as Health & Safety Advisor will include: Coaching and actively supporting and advising employees including line management and Safety Reps. in complying with company H&S policy and management system and UK legislation. Assisting with incident investigation, analysis and learning associated with H&S related events. Supporting the implementation & roll out of any H&S relevant continuous improvement activities across area operations i.e. policies and procedures for continuous improvement activities Assisting in the delivery & assurance of suitable and sufficient risk assessment as required by legislation Reviewing and interpreting current and future HSE demands in connection with business requirements and pending legislation Providing specialist advice and support to senior management regarding the management of workplace hazards, risks and environmental compliance Ensuring effective communication between Managers, Employees and HSE Department Ensuring HSE Programs are consistent with company policies and procedures Actively following and promoting the Company HSE policies and liaising with employees, visitors, internal stakeholders, regulators, customers, contractors and consultants as necessary to ensure they are aware of their obligation in complying with HSE Standards Conducting site HSE inspections and following up on findings Maintaining up-to-date information and knowledge on new developments in the area of Safety, Health, Environment and Loss Prevention. Deanston Cooper is currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to work for a Tier 1, international civil engineering contractor on marine projects in the Helensburgh area as part of a long term framework. The role offers hybrid working and accommodation in the local area can be provided if required. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, your duties as Senior Quantity Surveyor will include: Prompt presentation of all applications for payment, including all contractual entitlements. Ensuring that payments are received in accordance with the contract terms. Prompt submission of estimate / tendering information to the client. Prompt presentation of Final Accounts, including negotiation of all contractual entitlements. Prompt presentation of weekly cost / value information, delivery schedules and associated Key Performance Indicator (KPI) data. Preparation and presentation of Monthly Cost/Value Reconciliations and Final Cost/Value Forecasts. Preparation and presentation of forward work schedules and cash flows. Procurement, negotiation and placing of Sub-contract Orders. Financial and commercial management of Sub-contractors through to settlement of their Final Accounts. Ensuring that all contractual letters/ notices and information are presented in accordance with the contract requirements. Preparation of appropriate documentation in support of additional payment, variations, claims etc. Commercial support to the site and contracts management team. Commercial support to the Estimating and Procurement teams. Close liaison with the client on all commercial matters, including preparation and submission of supporting information.
