You will play a pivotal role in shaping the structural functions throughout the lifecycle of various projects. From concept design to commissioning, you will ensure that all civil aspects are meticulously considered and integrated. As a Structural Engineer your responsibilities will include: Preparing and reviewing designs for schemes and ensuring all designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. Preparing detailed structural calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports. Conducting site inspections and assessing existing structures for repair and/or replacement Producing and reviewing technical specifications and schedules for procurement activities, reviewing supplier tender bids and technical submissions. Understanding, applying and contributing to design standards with a good knowledge of Client and industry standards. Be able to appropriately challenge Client specifications and present and defend solutions to complex problems. Managing the interfaces and integration of the design with that of other disciplines and production of documentation. Able to actively seek input from other engineers, specialists, client and project team members to improve understanding and deliver fit for purpose solutions. Working closely and collaboratively with the commercial, operational and construction teams to develop efficient, practical and safe solutions throughout design stages, construction and beyond. Supervising and mentoring our Graduates and Engineers assisting them to develop their knowledge and skills. Undertaking site reviews to ensure buildability of solutions and integration within the existing systems. Candidate requirements: Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or related field. Chartered member of professional institution e.g ICE, IMechE, etc, or equivalent experience. Experience with water, or wastewater, non-infrastructure or infrastructure projects. The 330km Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) Project by Anglian Water is under construction and will be completed during AMP8. Beyond this we have a further 260km of water transfer pipelines and associated infrastructure to be delivered in AMP8. The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is searching for a Lead Process Engineer to support and enhance our project delivery team. What will you be doing as our new Lead Process Engineer? Provide designs which are innovative and deliver value for money whilst acting as a proactive problem-solver by applying engineering principles. Lead by reviewing the mandate and preparing a scope, methodology, programme and resource estimate for implementing the design stage of the project and design support during construction. You will be embedded within the SPA delivery team and be responsible for a section of the design output. You will monitor workload and liaise with mechanical and electrical engineers, Design Leads and other disciplines. Overview of the role After recent framework successes, we have opportunities for Senior civil engineers (design engineers) within our multidisciplinary Water Division. We work on a vast range of design projects covering, for example: Water treatment Wastewater recycling Industrial process water Irrigation Hydropower We cover all phases of the project lifecycle from feasibility studies through detailed design, construction support, and commissioning to handover. We provide specialist technical support to colleagues across our global business, offering fantastic opportunities to get involved in diverse and technically challenging work. Our clients include the majority of UK water utility companies, and many other governmental organisations and private companies in the UK and overseas. In this role you will be: Working across several different UK water authorities, with a main focus on United Utilities as a key client Working as part of multi-disciplinary design teams in project delivery Preparing design submissions to ensure compliance with contract requirements Undertaking studies, concept, preliminary and detailed design Interfacing and liaising with clients and other stakeholders You will work in close partnership with clients and contractors, building strong relationships that will enhance the company's reputation and help secure further work.
