Procurement & Commercial Coordinator Location: Site-based, Hull, HU2 Salary: £28,000-£32,000, dependent on experience Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm Contract: Full-time, permanent Reporting to: Head of Procurement Closing date: Sunday 6 September 2026 About FR Scott FR Scott is one of Hull's leading independent suppliers of fixings, fasteners, architectural ironmongery, tools and industrial consumables. Established in 1945, we support customers across construction, engineering, manufacturing and modular building from our Hull trade counter, warehouse and national ecommerce operation. The opportunity We are looking for a Procurement & Commercial Coordinator to join our team in a site-based role in Hull. This is a varied position combining purchasing operations, supplier coordination, product information, inventory support and commercial analysis. The role includes day-to-day purchasing activity, but it is not simply a purchase-order processing position. You will also support supplier sourcing, product and range reviews, supplier performance, stock analysis, quotations and wider procurement improvement projects. Working directly with the Head of Procurement, you will gain broad exposure across Procurement and, as your knowledge develops, gradually take responsibility for selected lower-risk suppliers and product groups. What you'll be doing Raise and maintain purchase orders, review supplier acknowledgements and keep delivery information accurate. Chase overdue orders and resolve supplier discrepancies relating to price, quantity, pack size, availability and delivery. Support supplier sourcing exercises and RFQs, including obtaining and comparing quotations and supplier information. Set up and maintain accurate product and supplier information, including specifications, attributes, pack quantities, technical documents and part numbers. Support new products, range reviews and product-data improvements for the Fix&Fast website. Analyse sales, stock and margin information to support purchasing, range and supplier decisions. Support supplier and category spend analysis to identify cost, sourcing and commercial opportunities. Research competitor products, pricing and availability, and support supplier negotiations and benchmarking. Support inventory reviews, supplier scorecards, slow-moving and obsolete stock analysis, and supplier performance follow-up. Contribute to procurement reporting, supplier onboarding, compliance data and process-improvement projects. About you You may already work in purchasing, buying or supply chain, or have relevant experience in product administration, ecommerce, sales coordination, order management or merchandising. Industry experience would be useful, but it is not essential. Strong attention to detail and good organisational skills. Confidence communicating with suppliers and colleagues and following actions through. Comfort using Excel and working with product or commercial data. An interest in products, pricing, stock and supplier performance. A proactive approach, commercial awareness and willingness to take ownership. Development and progression This role offers more variety and development than a traditional purchasing administration position. For the right person, it could provide a route into future Buyer, Category Manager or broader Procurement roles. A formal procurement qualification is not required, and support towards a relevant CIPS qualification may be available following successful completion of probation. What we offer £28,000-£32,000 salary, dependent on experience. 23 days' annual leave, increasing with length of service. Annual bonus scheme and company pension. Employee discount, on-site parking and sick pay. Training and development opportunities. Apply Apply through this advert with your CV. Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.
