Berrys is seeking an ambitious, RICS-qualified Rural Surveyor to join our Kettering office, undertaking a wide range of professional work. About the Senior Rural Chartered Surveyor Role Areas of professional work will include: • Providing advice to landowners on maximising land value through option and promotion agreements • Advising both landlords and tenants on tenancy matters • Undertaking property valuations, primarily of rural assets, but also residential and commercial property • Assisting in sales and lettings • Handling compensation claims, grants and subsidies, and joint ventures • Managing and developing relationships with both new and existing clients • Supporting the delivery of business plans and contributing to financial performance • Managing individual performance and workload to meet agreed targets About the individual for the Senior Rural Chartered Surveyor Role • MRICS qualified and Registered Valuer • Practical understanding of property, land, agriculture, and business matters • Able to work independently and as part of a team, with an understanding of when to escalate issues • Actively looking to build and expand a professional network • Commercially aware with an ability to manage personal budget and workload • Self-motivated, proactive, and confident in taking initiative • Strong written and oral communication skills • Proficient in IT systems and software • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use Hours : 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly Monday-Friday. Chartered Building Surveyor Responsibilities / Duties: An opportunity has arisen for a Building Surveyor to join Berrys busy and expanding Building Consultancy team in Shrewsbury. This individual would be based in the Shrewsbury office and will sit within an established building surveying team, delivering all facets of project and professional-based building surveying work. The role is primarily focused on commercial property building surveying, but an understanding of residential surveys is desirable. Essential Criteria for the Chartered Building Surveyor The role requires the candidate to have experience in some (not necessarily all) of the following areas: • Pre-acquisition building surveys • Schedules of condition • Preparation and negotiation of schedule of dilapidations • Preparation of schedules of works • Project management • CDM • Assessment of rebuild cost for insurance purposes • Planned maintenance programmes • Party Wall Awards The position is office-based (in line with our Agile Working Philosophy) with administrative support and the surveyor will be required to manage client relationships, provide fee quotes, arrange appointments and to manage their work to meet deadlines under their own initiative. The work will require travel throughout the country, especially in covering requirements from our Shrewsbury and Hereford offices. A valid driver s licence is required, and the candidate must have use of a vehicle prior to starting work. The successful candidate would be preferably an RICS Registered Building Surveyor, with post qualification experience. Hours: 37.5 hours per week, to be worked flexibly Monday-Friday. Role Profile for the Part II Architectural Assistant To support our ambitions and growing portfolio of work across the country, we are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Part II Architectural Assistant to help strengthen and build our team. We cover all RIBA work stages from conceptual design to detailed planning and technical drawings, to delivering on site projects through to completion. To make a success of this position you must be able to work under your own initiative and have a willingness to learn. An understanding of working practices and proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit would be advantageous. You will have the opportunity to work alongside our existing team of architects and architectural technologists based in the Shrewsbury office and under their guidance expand your skillset and knowledge.
