Thomas Search are supporting an award winning construction & facilities management provider with a 35 year PFI contract to maintain various commercial/industrial MOD assets at Larkhill military camp. Your Role: You will be ensuring projects are fully defined, specified and priced, with all necessary surveys completed. You will be liaising with external agencies and stakeholders to coordinate access and programming requirements. You will be specifying, tendering and evaluating projects in a timely, cost effective manner that delivers value for money. You will be preparing pre-construction information packs in accordance with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations. You will be providing project handover files to the Project Delivery Team and maintaining compliance with company management systems and processes. You will be planning projects to minimise disruption to services and customers while supporting safe delivery. What We're Looking For: Qualifications You will hold a National Qualifications Framework Level 4 or 5 qualification in a relevant discipline, a recognised project management qualification, and an industry recognised qualification in engineering, building services or facilities management. Experience You will have experience of building regulations, managing tenders and applying Construction (Design and Management) requirements within project environments. Skills You will have excellent communication and relationship building skills, a customer focused approach, a commitment to health and safety, and the ability to identify risks, opportunities and deliver cost effective outcomes.

In this role, you will be responsible for effectively managing the Pre-Construction process. This involves navigating various stages of design development, ensuring a delicate balance between providing technical guidance, meeting program requirements, and achieving project commercial objectives. Your role will also involve fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, including consultants and agencies like the Environment Agency, Planning Authority, and Building Control. Compliance with company Management System and CDM regulations will be paramount to the success of your endeavours. A significant part of your responsibilities will involve collaborating closely with outside consultants and providing valuable technical input to the wider Team. You will be tasked with maintaining positive and effective relationships with a wide array of stakeholders, ensuring smooth communication and collaboration. Additionally, you will play a critical role in developing comprehensive project scoping documents for both Consultants and Contractors, aligning with client requirements and providing the necessary technical accuracy and cost certainty. Chairing design co-ordination meetings will be part of your routine, ensuring that the overall Contract Programme is adhered to. Undertaking design risk assessments in compliance with CDM regulations will be crucial to the safety and success of projects. Regular monitoring and reporting on project progress, coupled with ensuring designs meet relevant standards and specifications, will be essential components of your role. Supporting the Commercial and Procurement Teams during tender reviews and interfacing with Facilities Management and Lifecycle teams to ensure the maintainability of designs will be part of your multifaceted responsibilities. Your ongoing support for the Site Delivery Team, responding to requests for information and technical queries in a timely manner, will be vital to the smooth progression of projects. What we are looking for: Degree/HND/HNC qualified in Building, Engineering or Architecture. Further professional qualification in Architecture, Engineering, Construction or Project Management desirable. Membership or active progress toward membership of a professional institution (RIBA, CIAT, CIOB, IStructE, ICE, etc.) will enhance your profile. Proven design management experience, successfully managing projects from conception to completion across various sectors and construction methods. A deep understanding of both traditional and modern construction methods is essential, coupled with a track record of effectively managing Pre-Construction activities. A working knowledge of AutoCAD and experience in a BIM environment is advantageous.

Thomas Search Ltd are working in partnership with a prestigious Ministry of Defence facilities contractor for the resource of a new Senior Building Services Engineer based in Tidworth. Salary: Up to £75,000 Hours: 37.5 hours per week, no weekends Location: Tidworth This is a senior technical leadership role, working closing with the Head of Estates, acting as the senior technical authority for Hard FM/Building Services across the contract. Ideally we're looking for a chartered individual, or someone who is IEng with deserve to become CEng. You will provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise across building services engineering disciplines throughout the estate. You will act as the senior technical authority and escalation point for complex engineering issues, critical asset failures and operational risks. You will lead root cause investigations, identify recurring defects and implement engineering solutions that improve reliability and reduce risk. You will evaluate asset performance and develop lifecycle replacement plans that support long term operational resilience. You will support major incidents, service disruptions and business continuity events while helping restore critical services. You will coach, mentor and develop technical capability across teams while building strong stakeholder relationships. Qualifications & Experience: You will be degree qualified in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline and be a Chartered Engineer, or working towards chartership, through an appropriate professional institution. You will have experience in the design, operation and maintenance of hot and cold water systems, heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems, heat pumps, building management systems and control systems, alongside experience writing technical reports and managing subcontractors. You will be analytical, able to communicate effectively at all organisational levels and capable of building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.
