We are looking for experienced and driven Senior Managers to lead our printing plant operations in Knowsley. This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for ensuring we deliver high-quality print products on time, in full, and within budget. You will play a key role in shaping operational excellence, leading high performing teams, and driving continuous improvement across all production areas. About the Role As a Senior Production Manager, you will oversee the full end to end production process, from customer requirements through to distribution, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety at every stage. You will be a visible leader across the plant, working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to align production strategy with wider business objectives. Key Responsibilities Company Leadership Partner with the SLT and senior management to deliver company strategy Represent Operations across business objectives and projects Lead by example, demonstrating company values at all times Oversee all production operations including Newsprint, CTP, Print, Post Press and Loading Drive operational efficiency across all manufacturing areas Foster a culture of accountability and excellence Team Engagement & Development Create a positive, inclusive working environment Mentor and develop teams to maximise performance Quality & Continuous Improvement Implement and enforce robust quality control standards Ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectations Production Planning & Delivery Lead end to end production planning Work with Central Planning to optimise schedules and capacity Develop and manage Disaster Recovery (DR) plans Ensure on time delivery of all printed products Resource & Asset Management Ensure all equipment is maintained to high operational standards Coordinate maintenance with Engineering and Calibration teams Performance & Budget Management Monitor KPIs across efficiency, quality and delivery Use data to drive operational improvements Manage and control operational budgets effectively Communication & Stakeholder Management Maintain clear communication across internal teams and external stakeholders Ensure alignment on production status and requirements Health & Safety Ensure full compliance with workplace safety standards Promote a strong safety culture across all production areas You will bring Proven manufacturing experience with a strong track record of achievement In depth knowledge and hands on experience of cold set newspaper production Extensive operational and technical experience within a printing environment Experience managing complex production schedules and delivering to tight deadlines Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams A proactive, solutions focused approach to problem solving Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong commercial and budget management experience Core Competencies Customer Focus - Commitment to delivering high quality products and customer satisfaction Operational Excellence - Ability to improve workflows and increase productivity Data-Driven Decision Making - Uses insight and KPIs to drive performance Resilience Under Pressure - Manages challenging situations calmly and effectively Leadership & Influence - Builds trust, confidence and high performance Coaching & Mentorship - Develops talent and succession pipelines Flexibility & Adaptability - Thrives in a dynamic environment Financial Accountability - Controls costs while maintaining standards We value our employees and provide a comprehensive benefits package, including: Parental Leave: Up to 18 weeks of full basic salary maternity leave & up to 2 weeks of paternity leave.
