The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) founded in 1911 exists to connect, develop, promote and support Commonwealth Country Parliamentarians and their staff to identify benchmarks of good governance and the implementation of the enduring values of the Commonwealth. The CPA collaborates with member-country Parliaments and other organisations, including the intergovernmental community, to achieve its Statement of Purpose. Vacancy Head of Strategy and Communications (Maternity Cover) Full time, 1-year Fixed Term Salary - Scale Point 44 - £71,528 per annum, ( inclusive of London Weighting Allowance ) per annum Attractive benefits including Pension, Travel insurance, Life Insurance, generous annual leave, and flexible working arrangements. This position is based in our Headquarters in London (hybrid working) and is maternity cover for one-year (fixed term). S/he will work directly with the CPA Secretary-General to ensure they are fully supported in all of their functions and in the governance of the organisation. This includes assisting the Secretary-General in their Chief Executive Officer role on matters of managerial oversight, the administration of the CPA Headquarters Secretariat, strategic planning, legal status and CPA's internal and external relations. As a member of the Senior Management Team, this role is responsible for direct line-management of three members of staff and leading a team of six. The post-holder will lead and manage the CPA's Strategy and Communications Team, which comprises the Private Office of the Secretary-General and the CPA's strategic planning, governance and internal and external engagement functions. It also includes the CPA Communications team, responsible for setting the Communications Strategy for the CPA and the delivery and management of all key communications channels, and the Gender Lead position, responsible for providing strategic overview of the CPA's gender thematic priorities for the Association and leading delivery of the CPA's commitment to embedding gender equality and the empowerment of women.
