Position: Plant Mechanic / Fitter Job Description: SDW CONSTRUCTION LTD & PLANT HIRE is a respected and growing company based in Mid Wales with over 20 years of experience within the construction industry. Due to increasing demand and expansion within our plant hire and sales sectors we are looking to recruit an additional plant mechanic/fitter. The position will appeal to a strong engineer looking for their next challenging role within in a secure and stable company. We are looking for technicians or mechanical engineers who have experience working as a plant fitter, plant technician, vehicle technician or a similar type of role. Experience within plant equipment, powered access equipment, agricultural machinery, motor vehicles may make this role perfect for you! Essential Skills. A good knowledge and experience in maintaining, repairing and servicing a large range of plant (Mini excavators up to 21 Ton Excavators, Dumpers, rollers, compressors, petrol engines ) Ideally you will have an NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) qualification A valid driving licence To work within a team based at our headquarters and if required to go out to mobile breakdowns. Trustworthy, Reliable, Responsible, methodical and a can do attitude. Key Duties. Carry out servicing, maintenance, fault finding and repairs to a wide range of plant with in our fleet. Maintain accurate and comprehensive service and repair records. To identify plant faults, to order relevant parts and to fit/repair. To communicate daily with manager and colleagues regarding work schedule. Assist work colleagues as and when required. Who are we looking for : To be considered for this role, you will need experience in at least one of the following areas: Mechanical engineering Electrical engineering Hydraulics You will need to be IT literate and able to use latest technology to keep accurate records and place orders. You must hold a full UK driving licence.
