As a Care Team Leader (Deputy Manager) you will lead by example and coach/mentor our care teams on a daily/nightly basis to ensure our residents are well cared for, motivated and stimulated to achieve a fulfilled and enriched life. Key Responsibilities: -To act as the person in charge of the home outside of office hours or in the absence of the General Manager and/or the Care Manager, ensuring that legislation is adhered to and standards are maintained. -To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring that all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive. To act as a key worker for a named group of residents, ensuring that these responsibilities are carried out in full. -Responsible for; understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements that are relevant, including; Health & Safety, COSHH, all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act to ensure that all care teams and other staff maintain a safe environment throughout the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control. -Undertake Move-In assessments for potential new residents, as delegated by the General Manager. Discuss findings with the General Manager and / or the Care Manager before agreeing suitability for placement. -To participate in the formulation of individual care plans for each resident. -Responsible for the ordering and administering of medication to residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. -To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, this includes resident's behaviour and actions and any incidents that may occur in the course of day-to-day care and to ensure that all care teams and other staff understand and respect this. -Undertaking general care assistant duties throughout the home as and when required. - Complete quality audits as delegated by the General or Care Manager. -Complete supervisions and appraisals of staff as delegated by the General Manager or Care Manager. -As part of your role as Deputy Manager you will be required to be on call for the home in the case of an emergency on a rota basis. You will be expected to work on a permanent rolling rota of three consecutive shifts on, followed by three consecutive shifts off with the following shift options: Full Time Days: 08:00-20:00 totalling to an average of 42 hours per week. As a Head Chef, you manage the Kitchen and Kitchen Staff. Supporting The Care Homes' aim of delivering high standards to residents by providing nutritious, varied and well-balanced meals that are safely and hygienically prepared and served. Responsible for supervising the catering team along with managing and controlling the catering budget, submit food orders as required in a timely manner Key Responsibilities: -To plan, prepare and cook a variety of meals which are appealing, nutritious and centres around residents' preferences, requests or any special dietary requirements -To be active and encouraging, provide advice and guidance for the team ensuring that The Care Home is a friendly, supportive working environment. -To understand and comply with statutory and legal requirements such as HACCP, Health and Safety, COSHH, Environmental Health, ensuring a safe environment within the home. -Implement, monitor and maintain cleaning schedules that meet the requirements of the HACCP Manual, and ensure that all areas of the kitchen are immaculately clean. This will include the washing up of pots, pans and dishes when required. -Ensure sufficient food stocks are ordered and received from approved suppliers and that stock rotation is taking place to maintain optimum freshness of all food stuff ensuring the highest quality expected within The Care Home. -Responsible for all kitchen equipment ensuring it is in full, safe working order, reporting any damage or faults to the Caretaker and Home Manager and following up any appropriate action. -To be an active member of the Care Home team, contribute to team meetings, and assist the General Manager with the selection, interviewing, induction and on-going development of catering staff. -To be understanding towards residents and their needs and attend resident/relative meetings. Regularly monitor and assess resident's satisfaction with the catering service provided in their home, and respond accordingly and positively to ideas and feedback. The Role: We are currently recruiting a General Manager, to take overall responsibility and manage all aspects in the day-to-day running of the home. You will promote a caring environment which provides Residents with a high standard of specialised personal care, meeting individual needs and ensuring everyone is treated with respect and dignity, and rights to privacy, independence and choice are met. You will supervise, monitor and evaluate the care delivered to Resident's, checking that legal requirements are met along with the highest standard as expected within the Care Home. Key Responsibilities • To manage the day-to-day running of all aspects of the home including; the standards and quality of care, recruitment and training issues, communication with the team, the premises of the Care Home and financial matters. • To recognise and assess individuals' needs, involving relevant professional agencies and relatives where needed, in order to formulate personalised care plans for each individual. • To provide the highest level of personal care and attention to Residents, following individual care plans carefully and ensuring all contact is polite, friendly, warm and supportive. • Responsible for understanding and complying with statutory and legal requirements relevant throughout the home. • Follow residents' individual care plans, to administer medication to Residents as prescribed, accurately maintaining appropriate records for both. Responsible for ordering, checking in and stock control of Residents' prescribed medication and maintaining systems to ensure effective stock management of all products. • To be an active and encouraging Manager, establish and maintain effective means of communication and good relationships with all stakeholders both internal and external. • Responsible for the recruitment of suitable team members, effective inductions and CIS standards take place, training needs for the team are identified and met. To carry out regular supervisions, assessments, lead team meetings, ensuring the Care Home is a friendly and supportive environment. • Responsible for organisation of the team including; arranging rotas, ensuring adequate team members are employed, managing team absence. • Responsible for controlling and monitoring the budget and expenditure of the Home, preparing monthly cash flow reports for the Directors and accurately recording all financial information. • To support residents with their personal financial arrangements, maintaining confidentiality of all information. • Responsible for the marketing, promotion and sales of the Home. • To deal with all prospective Residents including; providing relevant information and guided tours, assessing new Residents and negotiating appropriate fees. To welcome new Residents, complete appropriate records and paperwork and ensure adequate arrangements are made for every Resident. Essential Skills: • Ability to control and manage budgets and accounts • Knowledge of the principles of sales and marketing • Skilled in the recruitment, selection and retention of staff • Committed to a structured approach to training and development of staff • Understanding of the Health & Social Care Act and Health & Safety legislation • Leadership qualities, enthusiasm along with influencing and motivational skills • Excellent interpersonal skills • Professional, confident and warm personality • Have a caring disposition, reliable and punctual Desirable Skills: • Understanding of Bognor Regis's local authority • Experience with regulatory bodies • Knowledge of Person Centred Software (PCS) We are looking for individuals who have a passion for care (first and foremost) and those who are keen to be the best in the sector. You will work as part of a dynamic care team, ensuring the home adheres to the necessary requirements and procedures at all times. Hours of work: Your hours of work will be 09.00 - 17.00, Monday to Friday with an element of flexibility as and when required. This will equate to 40 hours per week in total.
