Technical Assurance Specialist - ESN Control Room - SC Cleared Contract Senior Technical Assurance / Systems Engineering We are looking for an experienced Technical Assurance Specialist to support a major programme involving the design, integration and delivery of Emergency Services Network (ESN) Control Room systems. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership and assurance across a range of Control Room technologies, reviewing supplier design and delivery documentation and ensuring proposed solutions meet the required technical, integration and contractual requirements. Key Responsibilities Lead technical assurance activities through the review and assessment of supplier architecture, design and delivery documentation. Act as a designated technical lead for key Control Room technology areas, coordinating and executing end-to-end design reviews. Review Control Room architecture, technical designs and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) , identifying technical risks, gaps and areas requiring further clarification. Provide assurance that Control Room systems integrate effectively with the wider ESN environment. Support technical assurance across Command & Control (C&C), CAD/GIS, Integrated Communications Systems (ICCS), PBX/PTN telephony, Voice Recording and Mobile Data Gateway solutions. Assess supplier proposals against technical requirements, design principles, standards and contractual obligations. Support the timely resolution of technical actions, risks and issues arising from design reviews. Participate in technical and Control Room project meetings, supplier workshops and technical discussions. Provide technical advice relating to 3GPP standards compliance , system integration, design risks and future ESN Control Room requirements. Contribute to technical RAID logs , project governance and regular reporting on technical risks, issues and design assurance activities. Support the development of technical requirements and specifications for Control Room suppliers, including Voice Recording, PBX, CAD/GIS and Mobile Data Gateway solutions. Support the assessment and resolution of technical issues raised through the Control Room supplier delivery process. Provide technical input into test strategies and assurance activities. Work closely with project stakeholders and User Organisation representatives to support technical engagement and effective delivery. Key Outcomes Timely and thorough review of Control Room architecture and design documentation. Effective technical assurance of Control Room system integration. Identification and resolution of technical design issues. Assurance that ESN Control Room systems meet the required technical and compliance standards. Technical input and assurance for test strategies. Clear and regular reporting into project governance. Effective technical oversight of supplier deliverables, enabling the project team to hold suppliers accountable for their obligations. Key Skills & Experience Significant experience in technical assurance, systems engineering, technical design or systems integration . Experience reviewing complex technical architecture and design documentation. Strong understanding of telecommunications and communications systems. Experience with 3GPP standards, mobile communications or related telecoms technologies . Experience working with technical suppliers and challenging/assuring their designs and deliverables. Strong understanding of systems integration, interfaces, requirements and technical verification. Experience producing or reviewing technical requirements, specifications and Interface Control Documents. Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage technical suppliers and senior project stakeholders. Experience managing technical risks, issues and actions within a structured project environment. Experience within mission-critical, emergency services, control room, telecommunications or similarly complex environments would be highly advantageous.

The role will involve working closely with clients, contractors, suppliers, consultants and internal engineering teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on programme and to the required technical and quality standards. Experience Previous experience working as a Project Engineer within pharmaceutical, chemical, process, semiconductor, data centre, advanced manufacturing or other technically complex sectors is highly desirable. This role is well suited to engineers with experience working across diverse project environments and multidisciplinary teams.
