About the Roles We are seeking two Mechanical Quantity Surveyors at any level to join the team. These individuals will play a key role in the commercial management of projects ranging from £300k to £20m , ensuring that financial objectives are met while maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance. Experience in Building Energy Management Systems (BMS) and a strong understanding of JCT and NEC contracts is highly desirable. Key Responsibilities Prepare and manage cost estimates, budgets, and valuations for M&E projects. Evaluate and negotiate contract terms, ensuring compliance with JCT and NEC forms of contract. Conduct cost analysis and value engineering exercises to maximize project profitability. Manage subcontractor and supplier accounts, including payments, variations, and final accounts. Prepare and submit interim valuations and final accounts. Monitor project cash flow and ensure timely billing and collection of payments. Liaise with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide financial updates and support. Conduct risk analysis and maintain accurate records of financial performance. Provide contractual advice and resolve commercial disputes efficiently. Support the development of junior team members and contribute to the overall success of the commercial team. Key Requirements Proven experience as an Mechanical Quantity Surveyor in the building services sector. Knowledge of Building Energy Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous. Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging in value from £300k to £20m. Excellent negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills. High level of commercial acumen and attention to detail. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for cost management and estimation. Full UK driving license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed. The successful candidate will act as the main point of contact between project managers, site supervisors, and field engineers, ensuring efficient and high-quality project delivery. Key Responsibilities Serve as the main point of contact between the Project Manager, site supervisors, and field engineers. Oversee the financial performance and reporting of all projects. Coordinate and control works from the design stage through to project completion and handover. Manage daily operations on-site, ensuring projects meet timelines and quality standards. Programme and manage all works, including variations or delays, and notify clients as necessary. Collaborate with other management team members to ensure adequate labour and subcontractor resources. Plan and organise suitable labour to meet project requirements. Oversee materials and deliveries to ensure timely alignment with project specifications. Stay updated with new regulations, including BS7671, BS5839, and BS5266. Serve as the Qualifying Supervisor for the company's electrical division, participating in annual NICEIC assessments as required. Adhere to all company policies, including health and safety regulations. Minimum Qualifications Required NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation. City & Guilds 18th Edition. Inspection and Testing (2391/2 or equivalent). Proven experience in fault finding and testing/inspection. Experience in maintenance, social housing, domestic, and commercial sectors, including fire alarms and emergency lighting. Skills and Experience Required Highly organised and self-motivated. Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure. Effective workload management and prioritisation. Strong communication skills with people at all levels. Ability to meet deadlines under pressure. Minimum 7 years of electrical experience. At least 3 years of contract/project management experience or equivalent. Strong commercial understanding.
