Role description: Due to on-going growth within our Design and Construction Safety business, we are seeking to locate motivated Health and Safety experts with experience in CDM Advisor and Principal Designer duties in Energy Sector to support in the successful delivery of projects for our key client programmes across the UK. Our teams are involved in some of the UK's most complex and stimulating projects that are diverse and technically demanding across a wide range of client sectors. As a member of our SESC team, you will primarily be involved within our Design & Construction SHE Team carrying out tasks to include; CDM Advisor & Principal Designer, in accordance with the CDM 2015 Regulations, Design Principals, Design Reviews, assessment of Designers Risk Assessments, RAMS Assessments, PCI Reviews, CPP assessments, Contractor assessments etc. Working as part of a UK wide team, having a significant contribution on client satisfaction by providing a motivated and committed approach to the provision of H&S/CDM/Principal Designer services. Work to deliver the required benchmark of exemplar standard of Principal Designer role and CDM services to time and quality on experience capability sites. This will include co-ordinating design team meetings, work closely with engineering team to ensure health and safety is considered at the design stage ( all RIBA stages); assisting client in the development of H&S arrangements/Project Briefs, providing workshops/seminars to clients on client duties, producing F10's, assisting with Design Principals or developing Design Guides, reviewing design risk assessments, attendance and chairing design team meetings, reviewing relevant health and safety files, ensuring suitable arrangements for the coordination of health and safety measures during planning and preparation of the Construction Phase, providing guidance and support for other Duty Holders (Client specifically). Provide advice on how to meet CDM Regulatory and relevant EHS requirements. Conduct audits of client supply chain to establish mechanism in place to discharge Principal Contractor and/or Principal Designer duties. Gradual audits of client management systems to establish robust processes to manage design and construction management and adherence to CDM 2015. Site based Construction Safety inspections and audits, undertaking Construction Phase Plan reviews, Risk Assessment and Method Statement reviews and site safety inspections in accordance with HSG150. Conduct accident and incident investigation processes; including root cause analysis and identification of remedial actions to prevent reoccurrences. Develop and deliver a range of health and safety training, including CDM 2015. Qualifications & Experience: Relevant skills and competence in delivery of Principal Designer/H&S /CDM services to a varied Client base. Engineering professional qualification (min HND, BSc in electrical, mechanical, or civil engineering) Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety and Health, NEBOSH Diploma desirable. Membership of the Association of Project Safety ideally Certified Member of APS or working towards CMaPS. Membership of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health, GradIOSH preferred, CMIOSH desirable, will consider Tech IOSH Membership of a recognised design & construction institution (MIET/MICE/IStructE/IMechE/IEEE) preferably at Member level. Working knowledge and an understanding of engineering and construction managements and methodologies associated with construction works on Commercial and Retail developments. Role description: This opportunity will allow the successful candidate to work within an integrated project controls team helping to deliver an annual £500m programme of nuclear work. The projects combine both new build and decommissioning within a structured collaborative environment working with colleagues who are focused on innovative solutions and teamwork where the focus is on delivery of programme outputs. Role accountabilities: Accountable to the project manager for service and to the Function Lead. To participate in project reviews and audits and conduct self-assessments of the Cost Engineering arrangements to ensure compliance is achieved with company procedures; Support the preparation of project change controls; Work with the project team to set out and implement cost capture requirements, including ensuring appropriate Work Orders (WO's) are in place, structure of requisitions, aligning Purchase Order (PO) structure with WO's and ensuring sub contract data provided can be used to monitor and control costs; Understand the contract project controls requirements and seek to improve if required. Align Purchase Orders with CBS to give clarity of Cost Performance Indices at an appropriate level within the Project; Manage time bookings by ensuring that correct WO codes are available, review and delete as appropriate and authorise creation of new charge codes following approval of baseline and funding changes; Tracking manpower productivity and analysing time booked to projects including resource usage vs. planned, resource constraints, etc. and make any relevant recommendations to the Project Manager; Accurately apply charging practices to ensure costs are captured correctly in line with estimates and ensure financial data reported reflects a 'true and fair' view (e.g. to ensure that Actual Cost of Work Performed (ACWP) and BCWP reflects a complete picture at any point in time); Perform post-contract cost activities where required, e.g.:- Assess the amount due at each assessment date with or without an application from the contractor on contracts where no quantity surveyor available, raise payment certificate and Service Entry Notifications (SEN's), assess Compensation Events (CE) and impact of Early Warnings (EW), review and assess Contract close out and instigate Defined Cost Audits as and when required (where in place, use Contract Event Management And Reporting tool (CEMAR) for all correspondence and to manage data. Validate and interrogate supply chain data to assist in accurate cost forecasting and trending and work with the supply chain to understand variances, drive cost accuracy and timely and accurate reporting; Work closely with Contractor assessing and tracking contractor expenditure against progress; Provide reliable & accurate Estimate to Completion (ETC) and Expenditure (ACWP) based on Value of Work Done; Conduct full and detailed Cost Performance Index (CPI) & Cost Variance (CV) analysis and subsequent root cause analysis, followed by provision of narrative, recommendations & recovery plans; Responsible for monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reviews and liaise closely with Project Manager and Programmes to inform of forecast and any changes; Monitor contingency requirements and liaise with Project Team regarding contingency management Provide trended data to the Project Manager based on performance trends to date and emerging trends. Participate and contributing to Value Engineering Studies, including capture of project value engineering records and maximise the subsequent efficiency savings proposed, including provision of auditable background evidence. Quantify cost implications of emergent / additional project work and feed into relevant documentation (e.g. change control documentation); Ensure regular review of the project trend and issue logs. Support in the preparation of project Baseline Change Proposals (BCP), Sanction proposals and supporting estimate information including underpinning, Basis of Estimate (BoE) etc. Ensure information is routed into site / unit / project change control records; Use estimate data to load budgets into baseline; Establish the Project CBS and participate in the preparation of cost studies utilising historical data. Developing benchmarking information to meet specific needs. Seek out and analyse relevant current and historical data to support robust cost estimating of activities; Support colleague's learning and development through knowledge sharing, task instruction etc. Contribute to the effective development and delivery of training within own area of specialism. Provision of knowledge transfer and training and development of Magnox staff from the Contract. The Opportunity As a Customer Service Manager, you will coordinate all aspects of service operations for our support team to follow to ensure that everyone performs to their best ability and provides the excellent service experience that customers expect and desire. The emphasis is on managing service level performance, customer facing activities such as leading service reviews, stakeholder management, problem management, service desk activities such as reporting and working closely with technical leads across the business to meet service levels and targets. A key focus of the customer centric role is designing and implementing an effective service management primarily on the Incident, Problem Management and Change management approach that seeks to identify problem trends effectively, proactively, and predicatively across our services. The primary emphasis is reducing impact on the customer and preventing incidents from occurring and minimising the impact of incidents that can be prevented. This will involve the analysis of incident trends and their connection to service level performance. Your Responsibilities Manage service level performance including proactive monitoring against performance targets and metrics across Work closely with the Service Management Office to establish and monitor performance of Operating Level Agreements (OLA's) with suppliers and 3 rd parties Regularly review tickets and ensure we are following effective ticket management processes to support achievement of our service levels Ensuring service reviews are truly effective and value add to our customers Manage the team of support service analysts of L1 and L2. Be the coach of the groups of service analysts Manage customer stakeholder's day to day, specifically for the more complex services within the portfolio Coordinate activities across multiple dependent delivery teams including managing escalations and major incident management / coordination Ensure our service reports are fit for purpose, optimised and adding value to our customers Work closely with other leads and SMEs across the business to improve service levels and performance Management of the processes required to deliver services effectively, efficiently, and consistently and ensuring they are applied Lead an effective problem management approach including preventative problem identification and influencing/deriving Continuous Improvement plans Root cause analysis and identifying longer term fixes and workarounds to minimise impact to the customer Input to monthly SMO governance reports and attend governance meetings.
