About the Role: We are seeking a motivated and responsible Senior Procurement Lead to join our team. As part of the team, you will play a key role in supporting and developing our procurement and supplier relationships. You'll be working in our state-of-the-art facility alongside a friendly, supportive team. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Procurement of Parts and Materials. Identify, source, and negotiate with suppliers for high-quality parts and materials. Develop a network of reliable suppliers to ensure consistent supply of rare or high performance parts. Evaluate and select suppliers based on quality, pricing, and lead times to ensure optimal inventory levels. Work with Material Control Manager on inventory management to ensure availability of essential parts while minimising excess stock. Implement systems to track and manage inventory, reducing waste, and improving cost efficiency. Analyse stock levels and adjust purchasing strategies to meet project needs and minimise storage costs. Cost Management and Budget Control. Manage budgets for purchasing activities, ensuring cost-effective procurement without compromising on quality. Negotiate prices, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers to optimize the company's expenses. Track and report on purchasing costs to identify savings opportunities and ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all parts meet standards for high-performance vehicles. Maintain records of certifications, warranties, and compliance documents related to purchased parts. Work with suppliers to negotiate volume discounts, delivery schedules, and exclusivity agreements where applicable. Address any issues related to delays, quality concerns, or order discrepancies with suppliers. Use historical data and upcoming project schedules to predict parts needs, ensuring stock is available without over-ordering. Adjust procurement plans to accommodate fluctuations in demand based on project flow and market conditions. Lead efforts to implement technology and automation in the purchasing process, such as procurement software and inventory tracking systems. Identify areas for process improvement to streamline purchasing operations and improve efficiency. Develop and document standard operating procedures for procurement to enhance team productivity. Communicate effectively with internal teams to keep them informed on stock availability, expected delivery dates, and potential delays. Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions, part shortages, or quality issues. Develop contingency plans to ensure parts availability in case of supply chain interruptions or sudden changes in demand. What We're Looking For: Experience in purchasing mechanical and electrical automotive components and systems Experience managing purchase orders, requisitions, and possess strong attention to detail along with a high level of computer literacy and competence Must have the ability to take ownership and manage the purchasing process from end to end.
