Front Office Data & Analytics Engineer - Crude & Products Apply locations: London, United Kingdom Type: Full time Posted: Yesterday Main Purpose: We are recruiting a software engineer to work directly with traders and research analysts in our trading teams. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced, data-driven trading environment, collaborating with global teams in Geneva, Houston, and Singapore. The engineer will be part of the global data science and engineering team responsible for market and fundamental data ingestion, management, modeling, and analytics applications. The software engineer will lead the development of applications and software using modern cloud and technology stacks, building end-to-end software platforms in an innovative business setting. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Responsibilities: Develop software components, frameworks, and micro-services Build core infrastructure and shared services for DnA applications Create cloud-native big data platforms and analytics solutions Maintain time-critical data pipelines (ETL/ELT) Implement SDLC and agile practices Apply domain-driven design principles Solve problems and automate complex business processes Qualifications and Experience: 5+ years experience with Python and/or Java Proficiency in SQL and relational databases Object-oriented design skills Experience with distributed systems, orchestration, micro-services AWS experience (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lambda) Bachelor's degree or equivalent in computer science or related field Experience with NoSQL databases is a plus AWS certifications are a plus Prior front office experience in commodities, fixed income, equities, or asset management is advantageous Competencies: Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement Knowledge of software engineering best practices Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks effectively Key Relationships and Department Overview: The Data Science and Engineering team develops analytics and data services for the trading business and other operations. The Crude & Products team manages physical and derivative portfolios, relying heavily on data, analysis, and automation. The role involves developing a deep understanding of the business and owning technical applications.
