Key Responsibilities Analyse project plans, specifications, and drawings to understand project requirements. Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather necessary information. Perform detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates, including labour, materials, and equipment. Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to obtain pricing and ensure comprehensive project coverage. Prepare and submit comprehensive bid proposals within established deadlines. Maintain a database of historical cost data for future reference. Monitor project costs throughout the construction process and provide regular reports to management. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as required. Requirements Proven experience as a Roofing Estimator, with a strong understanding of roofing materials and installation techniques. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans. Proficiency in using estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent analytical and mathematical skills. Strong communication and negotiation skills. Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritise workload. Valid UK driving licence. Preferred Qualifications Experience with both flat and pitched roofing projects. Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software. I am currently representing a growing main contractor who are seeking to recruit a freelance Project Manager with the possibility of going permanent for a 6m Commercial Refurbishment scheme in Park Royal. The Role As the Project Manager you will be No1 on the scheme with responsibility for managing a site team including SM, ASM and QS with responsibility for programme, design and buildability. You will report into a visiting Ops Manager. The developer for the project is a repeat business client for the main contractor and this particular project has further work to be maximised. They are currently seeking an up-and-coming Buyer with MEP experience to join their team based on a major project in the Somerset area. In this role you will work closely with the Procurement Manager and Senior Buyers in the Engineering Division, on this specific data centre project. This role is required for a fixed term period up to February 2027, in line with the duration of the project, however has the potential to go permanent depending on further work winning activities in the region. Our client can offer some hybrid working, with a minimum of 3 days on site, and they would also consider candidates interested in working away from home. Key Responsibilities: Assist the procurement manager/senior buyers to successfully achieve company goals. Act as procurement lead on specified contracts and tenders. Develop procurement strategies for tenders and projects under guidance of the senior buyer or procurement manager. Ensure performance feedback is obtained on suppliers used both at tender and project stage, and that internal supply chain systems are regularly updated. Produce, maintain and manage procurement schedules and communicate throughout to the project team to ensure key deliverables are met.
