About the role We are looking for a Learning & Development Business Partner to implement our exciting and ambitious new L&D plan to build capacity, capability and career development for our diverse workforce. This role reports into the L&D Manager and works collaboratively with the rest of the L&D Team and wider organisation and specific project delivery teams, and within a HR Team of HR Shared Services and HR Business Partnering. The team works flexibly and proactively to shape and drive the organisation's goals including business change and service excellence. Key deliverables span talent pool development programme creation and delivery, the rollout, upscaling and engagement with our digital learning solutions, the implementation of structured career development paths for all employees, and professional and personal development, coaching and mentoring programmes. It's an opportunity to use your drive and collaboration in order to deliver an impactful range of L&D projects, and provide expert advice and insight, and to flex your best in class training and coaching skills. You'll operate as a full member of the HR People and Talent and provide advice and guidance to staff and managers at all levels. Clinical Adviser: Consultant Psychiatrist 11 February :00am Length of contract FTC until 31/04/2021 (1 day per week) Location Manchester About us We are the final stage for complaints about the NHS in England and public services delivered by the UK Government. We look into complaints where someone believes there has been injustice or hardship because an organisation has not acted properly or fairly or has given a poor service and not put things right. Our service is free for everyone. About the role The Clinical Advice team is responsible for the provision of all clinical advice to the Ombudsman. We have both internal and external advisers based in our London and Manchester offices. Internal advisers provide both oral and written advice within the Office, working closely with caseworkers. Clinicians are employed part time, so that they can continue to work in the NHS and engage in ongoing professional development in that context. This is important because it ensures that they bring current and up-to-date knowledge and experience to the Office, both in terms of clinical practice and the organisational context in which services are delivered. We are keen to accept applications from medical professionals with a broad range of experience in psychiatry, enabling the provision of advice on a variety of cases within this area. Following appointment, new clinical advisers will participate in a short induction programme designed to equip them with the skills, knowledge and information they will need for their new role. This includes specific training in our case management and IT systems, with appropriate support from an assigned mentor and lead clinician. We make final decisions on complaints that have not been resolved by the NHS in England, UK government departments and some other public organisations. We do this fairly and without taking sides. Our service is free. About the role We're looking for an effective and diligent Senior Policy and Public Affairs manager to lead PHSO's policy and public affairs team. This is an opportunity for someone with significant experience of developing public policy and influencing stakeholders to help drive improvement in public services to step into a leadership role and manage a whole team and function. The successful candidate will be required to ensure the team's work projects and core business activities are effectively planned, prioritized, and resourced in line with business needs. The Policy and Public Affairs team is responsible for PHSO's policy, stakeholder engagement, and parliamentary accountability work. In this newly created role, the Senior Policy and Public Affairs Manager will be working directly with the Assistant Director of Policy, Strategy and Public Affairs. You will have overall responsibility for the day-to-day management of the Policy and Public Affairs team, managing the team's work programme, motivating the team, and ensuring the team consistently delivers on time and to the standard required.
