This marks an exciting step for AKI as it ventures outside of Malta for the first time. Following the successful establishment of AKI in Valletta, Malta, and with our exciting upcoming launch in London , we are now looking for a talented and innovative Senior Sous Chef to join our team. Job Role Collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to efficiently manage all kitchen operations with professionalism and attention to detail. Lead, motivate, and support the kitchen team to maintain high morale and performance. Oversee food preparation and service to ensure timely and exceptional delivery. Take full responsibility for kitchen operations in the absence of the Executive Chef. Assist in the development of menus and recipes in line with the restaurant's standards and vision. Ensure the proper functioning of all kitchen equipment, maintaining temperature logs and reporting issues promptly to senior management. Monitor and control kitchen costs, including food, staffing, and energy usage. Report on daily kitchen activities to senior management. Guide and supervise team members to achieve their objectives and align with company goals. Manage food production, inventory ordering, and cost control, ensuring consistent food quality and presentation. Maintain strict safety and sanitation protocols across all kitchen facilities and equipment. Ensure full compliance with health, hygiene, and food safety standards. Adhere to and enforce all company policies and standard operating procedures. Job Requirements Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar senior kitchen role. Strong attention to detail and culinary precision. Ability to perform effectively in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Good communication skills in English (spoken and written). Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays as required. Why Join Us?
