The role will assist the support of the IT infrastructure covering around 2000 users in a multi network environment providing desktop support services. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Provide desktop support (2nd/3rd Line) to user calls, fed via the UK Service Desk / Activity Controllers to EUS staff. (Includes the resolution of incidents up to Priority One level and handling Service Requests from basic Laptop/desktop builds to entire user IT relocation projects). Build / rebuild and deployment of desktop / laptop machines in line with "Desktop-on-Demand" procedures and build standards using automated tools (SCCM) and manual processes as necessary. Ensure appropriate support is provided within contractual support hours (the minimum hours per week will be 37 - (8hrs Mon to Thu and 5hrs Fri). However, a flexible attitude to work hours is expected and may require evening and weekend work on occasion. The candidate should be available for on-call if required. Incident support and troubleshooting of any reported issues raised by a UK based service desk on behalf of users. Support and deployment of Smartphone's - iPhone and Android. Support and cover a kiosk-based support solution to troubleshoot IT requests at a drop-in centre based in the Belfast sites giving the customer flexibility for the support provided. Qualifications, Experience and Skills: Experience working in an IT support environment working directly with users in face-to-face situations. Ability to diagnose faults and think on their feet to find a solution. Experience with desktop/laptop environments covering Windows 11, Windows 10, Office applications. Skills with engineering and bespoke desktop applications desirable. Ability to interact with users at all levels including senior VIPs. Resilience to challenging feedback and able to show sympathetic but firm and positive responses. Teamwork focus, able to work with teams located at other remote sites as required. Ability to prioritise and action calls in busy user environment and to take on work delegated by central Service Desk Ability to identify and suggest where team and processes could develop and enhance levels of service to users and IS internally A highly flexible attitude is required where the ability to take on tasks and travel to other sites in the region at short notice is needed. The Lead IVVQ engineer will work with the CAP engineering delivery team to enable early identification of key customer and legislative requirements in response to customer RFQs. Prepares system operational plans and reports that explain how the equipment being developed meets requirements. Operational design limits are evaluated and defined; performance analyses and simulations are developed & performed to support the above. Performs technical/engineering tasks to define system design and subsystem requirements details. Analysis and simulations are performed as necessary to identify design feasibility & driving requirements. Supervises staff, by defining their work, coaching them on how and what to prepare, monitoring their progress and directing them on priorities. Manufacturing Technician - Cameras Location: Glasgow Role: Full Time Hours: Friday - Sunday Weekend shift Due to demand we're looking for a technician to join our team in Glasgow to Support us in the manufacturing process and test of multiple military based products. We are looking to expand the night shift. Key Responsibilities and Tasks: Optical alignment and construction of optical subassemblies Complex optical bonding using a mixture of optical adhesives Optical handing and cleaning Analysis of optical components using interferometers etc. Calibration of optical subassemblies and tooling Work in multi-disciplinary teams About you A good understanding of general physics Good practical and experimental skills Inquisitiveness - ability to question results and then answer those questions Self-motivated and capable of working alone and within teams Good written and oral communication skills to allow effective communication with peers, and both technical and non-technical customers. Desirable Knowledge of optical instruments Knowledge of interferometry Knowledge of mechanical engineering Experience with opto- mechanical components and manufacture. POSITION: Manufacturing Technician DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing LOCATION: Belfast Our Opportunity As a CNC Machinist, you will support lead the manufacture and inspection of high precision components, sub-assemblies, tooling and fixtures in a total quality team environment in order to meet production schedules and requirements. About You As a Machine Technician, you will ideally have served an apprenticeship as a turner or skilled machinist and with proven post apprenticeship experience with mill/turn or multi-axis being advantageous. To be successful in this role, you will already have the ability to understand information given on technical drawings and apply that information in the programming and in the operation of CNC machine tools. Key Duties Responsible for the set-up and operation of major plant equipment within a high volume production environment i.e. C.N.C. machine tools in order to manufacture high precision missile components, Tooling, Gauging, Jig and fixture details and R&D hardware. Shop Floor programming using M.D.I. and G codes to produce C.N.C. programmes for the manufacture of R&D hardware and Tooling and to edit C.N.C. part programmes during prove out and production runs and to ensure any changes are fed back to manufacturing engineering to maintain traceability. Responsible for the step by step prove out of program by diagnosing errors therein to prevent damage to plant equipment and ensure correct manufacture of components. Responsible for recording data on statistical process control (S.P.C.) data base units or control charts. Monitoring and analysing such data to resolve problems in controlling the machining process. Responsible for calibration/plausibility checks on post process gauging (P.P.G) to assure correct part measurements. Responsible for the quality of machine components to drawing specification and quality standards, using meteorology equipment and to ensure equipment is within calibration requirements. Accountable for own productivity and quality and the recording any necessary quality defect data on factory management system (F.M.S.) to facilitate traceability. Responsible for progressing finished components to other work groups by actively participating in materials handling and processing correct progress data on the factory management system (F.M.S.) Responsible for identifying any errors found within process sheets and measurement plans and to ensure any such errors are reported to M.E. for correction. Responsibility to work in a continuous improvement environment to achieve maintain and improve product quality and to strive to reduce machining cycle times, lead time and production costs.
