Location: Sefton, Merseyside Salary: up to 36,000 Hours: 4 on 4off (5.30am - 5.30pm) Job Type: Permanent, Full-time Are you an experienced Quality Controller or QA Technician looking to join a successful, fast-paced food manufacturer where quality is genuinely valued? We are recruiting for an established manufacturer supplying high-quality chilled products to major customers across the UK. The business has built a strong reputation within its market and is continuing to invest in its people, processes and technical standards. This is an excellent opportunity to join a knowledgeable and supportive Technical team in a hands-on role where you will have real responsibility for maintaining food safety, legality and product quality across the site. You will work closely with Production, Hygiene and Technical colleagues, helping to drive standards, resolve issues and ensure every product leaving the factory meets both customer and company expectations. The Role As Quality Controller, you will play a key part in the day-to-day running of the factory, acting as a visible quality presence on the production floor. Your responsibilities will include: Completing quality, food-safety and process checks throughout production Monitoring product temperatures, weights, specifications, packaging and label accuracy Carrying out GMP, hygiene and housekeeping inspections Ensuring CCPs and other critical controls are monitored correctly Checking raw materials, finished products and production documentation Identifying, recording and escalating non-conformances Supporting investigations into quality issues and customer complaints Placing products on hold where required and helping to implement corrective actions Verifying traceability, date coding and allergen controls Supporting internal audits, factory inspections and customer visits Working closely with Production teams to improve standards and prevent repeat issues Ensuring all quality records are accurate, complete and submitted on time About You We are looking for someone who is confident, observant and comfortable challenging standards when something is not right. You will ideally have: Previous experience as a Quality Controller, QA Technician or Quality Assurance Assistant within food manufacturing A good understanding of food safety, HACCP and GMP requirements Strong attention to detail The confidence to communicate with people at all levels A proactive approach to problem-solving The ability to remain calm and organised in a busy manufacturing environment Good written and verbal communication skills Basic computer and documentation skills Experience within seafood, fish, meat, poultry, ready meals or another chilled food environment would be particularly beneficial. We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic, and self-motivated Mobile Tuk Truck Driver & Food Manager to operate and oversee the day-to-day running of our branded mobile tuk truck. This is a hands-on role combining driving, event setup, food preparation, customer service, and overall management of the mobile unit at our site events and pop-up locations. Key Responsibilities: Work with area team to book tuk truck events Work with Development Chefs to create innovative street food menus Drive and transport the tuk truck to various event locations across the North of England Set up and manage the mobile unit, ensuring a professional and welcoming presentation Manage and supervise events. Work with unit staff to co-ordinate food production and successful delivery of events Ensure compliance with health & safety, food hygiene and allergen regulations Act as the face of the business, delivering excellent customer service at every event Report to Head of Food Development with regular progress updates and feedback of events Carry out light maintenance and cleaning of the tuk truck to ensure it is always event-ready Requirements: Full UK driving licence Experience driving larger or non-standard vehicles is a plus but not essential Background in hospitality, food service, or events management preferred Food production or chef qualification e.g. 706 / 1.
