Salary is between 35,000 and 50,000 per annum (depending on experience). Must live within commutable distance from Doncaster as this is office based. This role would suit an Estimator from a Structural Steel background looking to progress in their career. This is an autonomous role where you will work closely with the Sales and Estimating team to generate estimates and undertake a range of office responsibilities for bespoke Structural Steel projects. You will undertake occasional site visits, but primarily work within the office to quantify steel work from engineering drawings and sub-contract packages. Requirements: Review and assess from available drawings/specifications/BoQ to the extent of the requirement and/or opportunity on a project-by-project basis Prepare and submit competitively priced quotations in accordance with the compliant specification for the Project and if necessary, value engineer the package and secure competitive advantage. Submit re-quotes as and when necessary, in strict compliance with any agreed design changes or scheme amendments Liaison with main contractors, engineers, architects, suppliers, and internal staff on technical matters Development and maintenance of established processes/the New ABI Database and SAP (customer relationship management systems). On receipt of new orders to ensure all contract documentation is reviewed and a reply to the order is issued to the client confirming agreed price, payment terms and site attendances. Work collaboratively with the Senior Management Team in evaluating the extent of any given opportunity and in seeking to optimize its value. Dutton Recruitment (Sheffield Engineering) are currently recruiting: We are looking for an On-Call Electrical Engineer at our client's West Yorkshire site in Knottingley Salary is 41.298.40 per annum This is a day position, working 40 hours per week, 8.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, however, there is an element of flexibility required for this role and as such these may change from time to time to suit factory needs. In addition, you will be required to be on call one week in four. Reporting to the Engineering Team Leader and working within a small team, the role is responsible for the provision of an 'on-call' service to rectify and eliminate equipment faults and failures and minimise machine downtime, via a committed rota (one week in four), covering 365 days per year. This on-call provision will commence after familiarisation of the site and machinery. Suitable candidates should be fully apprentice trained, or equivalent, and possess a good level of Maths and English, candidates may be requested to undertake an aptitude test to demonstrate these skills. Candidates must be able to communicate confidently and effectively all levels, both written and oral, have good organisational skills with a logical and methodical approach to work. The ability to work well under pressure, in a hostile working environment and prioritise workloads is also essential to this role, together with excellent problem solving skills. Previous knowledge of working within a glass manufacture plant and/or 24-hour process environment would be an advantage, however, not essential. Assist in surveying job sites, assessing drainage systems, and recommending the necessary parts and tools for repairs. Replace, repair, and maintain manhole covers and other surface drainage components. Carry out minor excavations to access damaged pipes and blockages, with a focus on working safely, especially in confined spaces (Confined Space Certification is a plus). Assist senior engineers with day-to-day tasks, ensuring that work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Help with site preparation, clean-up, and safety compliance. Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction. What We're Looking For: Previous experience in drainage work is advantageous, whether as a Drainage Engineer or a Mate assisting engineers. A strong foundation in basic plumbing tasks (pipe repairs, leak detection, fitting replacements) and drainage systems is helpful.
