Role Summary In this strategic leadership role, you will be responsible for ensuring technical governance across the organisation, maintaining compliance with statutory, contractual, and industry standards. You'll lead national audit programmes, support regional Technical Managers and Authorised Persons, and act as the subject matter expert for JSP 375. This position involves regular engagement with senior stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and defence clients, requiring a confident communicator and a technically astute professional. Key Responsibilities Lead assurance activities across fire safety, DSEAR, fuel, gas, electrical, asbestos, and legionella compliance. Govern technical standards and ensure outputs are accurate, complete, and high quality. Represent technical assurance at contractual meetings, providing clear, evidence-based reporting. Manage third-party engineering audits and ensure timely resolution of corrective actions. Analyse national maintenance and compliance trends, driving root cause analysis and improvement. Maintain strong relationships with regulatory bodies and ensure a proactive compliance approach. Support the delivery of the Management Process Audit & Assurance programme and embed lessons learned across the business. Candidate Profile Extensive experience in senior technical compliance, assurance, or engineering governance roles within Hard FM. Strong working knowledge of CAFM systems (e.g. Maximo) and FM standards (e.g. SFG20). Relevant qualifications in compliance areas (e.g. P405 Asbestos, C&G Legionella). Understanding of MoD Defence contracts and JSP 375. HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience). Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and analytical skills. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and regional leadership. Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) Specialist Consultant Join a leading defence organisation as a GFE Specialist Consultant, supporting the management, compliance, and assurance of Government Furnished Equipment across UK defence programmes. Key Responsibilities: Provide expert consultancy on GFE requirements under MoD and international defence contracts. Interpret DEFCONs, DEFSTAN 05-099, and related clauses to advise on compliance and risk. Develop and refine GFE processes, tools, and training across the organisation. Conduct internal audits and readiness reviews to ensure GFE compliance. Support programme teams in planning, usage, and disposal of GFE assets.
