Project Control: Be the point of contact for a particular work package or project. Involvement in all RIBA Plan of Work stages 0 - 7. Understand client initiatives, project processes, review & approval procedures, and assist in implementing them within the project/team. Understand key documentation and management tools: the brief, project process, programme, Project Quality Plan, budget, fee, resources, project constraints, activities, and deliverables. Develop the design and contribute to key project documentation: GA drawings, details, schedules, specifications, visualisations, reports. Plan and oversee project assistants' activities and deliverables, ensuring deadlines are met. Participate in design meetings, progress meetings, workshops, reviews, and presentations. Accurately record meetings and significant communications as appropriate. Design Control: Develop design solutions that are technically compliant, buildable, aligned with P+W design philosophy, and meet client needs. Coordinate structure, MEP services, specialist systems, external envelope, interior design, vertical circulation, wayfinding, landscaping, etc., into the overall design. Contribute to internal design reviews early and at key design stages. Prepare high-quality presentation materials consistent with other projects for the same client. Maintain knowledge of construction and building legislation, stay informed about technical developments, and pursue CPD opportunities. Commercial Control: Be aware of commercial risks and liaise with the Project Leader, Associate, or Director. Document and approve all changes, defining and agreeing on time, cost, and quality implications before proceeding. Understand resource profiles and profit targets, assisting in managing work within these constraints. Complete timesheets accurately and weekly on Rapport. Quality Control: Adopt the company's Quality Management System, including project quality plans, documentation review, compliance with CAD & BIM plans, standardized documentation, and internal reviews. Contribute to internal or external audits of projects. Team Management: Contribute to a motivated, architecturally aware team environment. Be aware of team structure, roles, and responsibilities. Identify training needs for team members and liaise with leadership accordingly. Assist in preparing reports on resources, fee forecasting, design issues, and health & safety concerns. Business Development: Identify marketing and business opportunities and inform the Project Director or Marketing Manager. Contribute to bid and submission preparations for future projects. Keep personal CVs updated in collaboration with the marketing team. Knowledge, Skills, and Qualities Required: Strong technical knowledge: building technology, codes, standards, project information, NBS specifications, and considerations for quality, environment, and health & safety. Excellent communication skills: spoken and written English, graphical ability. Soft skills: teamwork, proactivity, adaptability, deadline orientation, organization, self-motivation, honesty, professionalism. Proficiency in relevant software: Revit, Sketch-up, Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign. Registration with the Architects Registration Board.
