Maths Teacher Ealing, West London April 2026 Start Permanent (Employed directly by the school) £40,317-£52,300 - MPS Forever Education is supporting a social enterprise, providing specialist therapeutic education based in Ealing, West London supporting exceptional neurodiverse children and young people aged 14 to 19, who have special educational needs and disabilities typically associated with autism, social emotional and mental health needs and associated disorders. Most of them will have experienced multiple placement breakdowns and significant trauma, often resulting in behaviour that challenges. On average pupils will have been excluded from other provisions up to three times before reaching the school and had significant periods out of education. They are looking for a Maths Teacher to join there new Keystage 4 and post 16 centre that is opening in April 2026. JOB DESCRIPTION Maths Teacher Delivering lessons to KS4 and post 16 students that are pupil-focused and creative, according to an agreed timetable, and with defined outcomes that link with their Education, Health and Care Plan. Work alongside Therapeutic Education Practitioners (specialist community-based learning mentors) in the planning, preparation and differentiation of all aspects of Maths. Link the delivery of the curriculum and link to other aspects of the curriculum (Academic/Vocational, SEMH & ASC, Enrichment, Engagement, Therapeutic) and ensure this is delivered in a nurturing way and according to the Principles of Therapeutic Education. JOB DESCRIPTION Support the class teacher (virtually) in ensuring the best possible outcomes for pupils, including the delivery of lessons and related educational activities as specified in the pupils EHCP and any other relevant documentation. Collaboratively plan, deliver and monitor creative and innovative lessons and projects in accordance with the aims of the relevant documentation, and to work towards good practice outcomes, drawing on a range of resources both from within the school and utilising appropriate community facilities and activities e.g., internet access, libraries, museums, and historical sites. Liaise with senior leadership in developing a comprehensive risk assessment and management program, providing appropriate supervision for all your assigned pupils. Responsible for home/school liaison over matters of attendance, therapeutic support, behaviour support and academic progress. Ensure that student attendance is reported daily at set times each day to attendance team & geographical cluster leads. Act as the appropriate adult during working hours and until the pupil is handed over to another adult; in accordance with the pupil s Service Proposal, collect, meet and/or return the pupil to the designated location / person. Alongside teaching staff, initiate a system of rewards which act as strategies to encourage achievement and the development of self-esteem. Look at our pupils holistically, drawing on a wide range of social care, therapeutic and teaching strategies to meet pupil needs. PERSON SPECIFICATION Minimum of one years experience of working directly with high risk and complex pupils in a recognised setting such as social work, youth work or education. Experience in taking a lead in behaviour management. Substantial experience of working with pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Emotionally based School Avoidance (EBSA) and a working knowledge of best practice in supporting neurodiverse pupils. Clear understanding and knowledge of the National Curriculum, teaching, assessment and behaviour management strategies that facilitate effective learning and progress. Knowledge and experience of the importance of cultural identity to young people, child protection guidance and commitment to safeguarding pupils and staff.
