Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Indirect Tax Compliance lead to join Honda Motor Europe's Finance division, reporting to the Senior European Tax Expert within the Group Finance team. This role will be responsible for managing the indirect tax compliance processes in the European region, ensuring accurate and timely VAT, Intrastat and other indirect filings, supporting tax audits, and driving continuous improvement in tax-related processes and data quality. Responsibilities Review periodic VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, sales listings and other local reports across multiple jurisdictions prepared by the shared services centre. (Currently 18 countries: 15 EU, UK, Norway and Switzerland, and 1 One Stop Shop (OSS) registration.) Coordinate day-to-day operations performed by the indirect tax team in the shared service centre. Ensure timely and accurate submissions and payments requests. Responsible to manage day-to-day activities related to e-invoicing and e-reporting. Process and Data Improvement Support the implementation of the insource compliance model and manage the operations going forward. Identify and implement opportunities to automate, streamline, and enhance indirect tax processes. Identify and implement opportunities to enhance tax data quality. Collaborate with indirect tax business partner, external indirect tax advisors, finance teams and IT to improve data quality and system capabilities supporting tax compliance. Tax Accounting Owns tax general ledger accounts reconciliations. Ensure proper tax accounting treatment for purchases, sales, and other business transactions. Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to indirect taxes. Authorisation Certificates Ensure all required authorisation certificates for VAT and related indirect tax filings are collected and available prior to submission deadlines. Verify the validity and accuracy of existing certificates to guarantee compliance with regulatory requirements. Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to update or renew certificates as needed. Tax Audits Act as the point of contact for indirect tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities. Prepare audit documentation, respond to queries, and coordinate with internal departments and external advisors. Internal Training and Guidance Provide training and guidance on VAT compliance and processes to internal stakeholders and to the shared service centre. Qualifications Degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or related field or equivalent experience. Strong experience in indirect tax compliance, preferably within a multinational company, consulting firm or a shared services environment. Strong understanding of VAT and Intrastat reporting requirements. Proficiency in SAP and tax reporting tools. Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to manage deadlines. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Fluent in English; additional European languages are advantageous. Desirable Professional accounting or tax qualifications are an asset (e.g., ACA/ACCA/CIOT/CIMA in UK or local equivalent). The regular office hours are 08:00 - 16:00 Monday to Thursday with a half hour lunch break & 08:00 - 13:00 on a Friday. However, we offer flexibility of when you work with our daily flex-time start of between 07:00 and 11:00 providing that there is no business requirement. Whilst there is no contractual right to work from home, the flexibility we offer is that you can request to work from home 2 days per week, again providing there is no business requirement to attend the office. Role: This is a role of Financial Planning and Analysis for Honda Motor Europe Automobile division. The role will support both the Business Management team and the European branches' financial operations. Key tasks will involve price maintenance, analysis, and reporting of financial results, as well as preparation of the financial information for budget events. Main Responsibilities: Assistance in Price Maintenance for Branches, distributors and Export: Support yearly and quarterly price maintenance in SAP. Assistance in issuing quarterly quotations. Receiving and collating relevant documentation for parts shipments. Actual results analysis: Collation and analysis of branch variances between budgeted and actual results using Hyperion Planning. Support with reporting of the financial analysis to division managers. Budget Support: Supporting scheduling and booking facilities for budget meetings with European branches, factories and distributor teams. Preparation of reporting templates and collation of branch responses. Preparing KPI analysis and ad hoc requests for Business Management team. Qualifications, skills and experience: Required Must be an undergraduate, undertaking a Business degree with an Economics, Accounting or Finance focus, looking for a placement as part of their studies. Advanced Excel Skills - (including use of Lookups, IF's, Formatting, embedded formula, linking cells etc.). Strong Analytical Skills and ability to understand representations of financial data. Proficient with PowerPoint. Willingness to learn is key to benefit the support of the team to develop your professional skills. Hyperion Planning and SAP trainings will be provided for the purpose of the role. Logical thinking, attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
