Overview The Senior Site Manager has overall responsibility for a specific site, typically a large-scale project. They are the construction leader on the ground, managing the day-to-day supervision of the construction site. Experience Strong people management experience. Knowledge of good industrial relations practices. Ability to handle conflicting priorities and difficult stakeholders, especially subcontractors. Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences. Proven ability to manage subcontractor supervision. Over ten years' experience across various sectoral projects. Experience leading teams and delivering medium to large-scale projects. Qualifications Academic or professional industry-related qualification. CSCS for Managers, SMSTS, CDM/PSCS Awareness, BBS, & S5 Q10 internal workshops. First Aid at Work Certificate. Lifting Supervisor certification. Driving Licence. Overview Opportunity for a Commissioning Manager to join our Life Science team in London. The Commissioning Lead is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing the commissioning phase of a Pharmaceutical project. This includes ensuring systems, equipment, and processes are installed, tested, and functioning according to design specifications and industry standards. The role involves collaboration with engineering, operations, and construction teams to meet project objectives safely, on time, and within budget. Responsibilities Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and procedures in collaboration with project stakeholders. Coordinate with design, construction, and operations teams to align commissioning activities with project milestones. Review project designs, specifications, and drawings to ensure commissioning requirements are met. Lead and participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs). Ensure systems are tested for safety, performance, reliability, and compliance with standards and regulations. Identify and address technical issues during commissioning, troubleshooting problems. Oversee onsite commissioning activities, ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies. Direct pre-commissioning, functional testing, and performance verification of systems. Supervise the transition of completed systems to operations, ensuring all documentation and training are delivered. Maintain accurate records of commissioning activities, including test results, punch lists, and progress reports. Generate and submit detailed commissioning reports, including lessons learned and recommendations for future projects. Ensure as-built documentation is updated and final system certifications are completed. Experience Strong technical knowledge in specific domain, e.g., mechanical, electrical, or control systems . 8+ years experience in commissioning, project management, or construction on a Pharmaceutical project. Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documents. Excellent project management skills, including planning, scheduling, and resource management. Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities under pressure. Effective communication and leadership skills for managing diverse teams and stakeholders. Thorough understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations related to commissioning activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, or related field) or equivalent experience. Experience with commissioning software/tools and methodologies. Certifications such as PMP, Certified Commissioning Professional (CCP), or industry-specific credentials are a plus. Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ASHRAE, IEEE, IEC, or others relevant to the sector). Perform risk reviews in the absence of the BU HSE Manager. Attend sites following accidents/incidents and assist with the investigation. In the absence of the Project Director, lead the investigation. Liaise with enforcement authorities if they attend the site on routine visits or to investigate following an incident. Overview The UK Construction North team is looking for someone with a proven track record in delivering internal finishes from first fix to handover. The role involves managing subcontractor packages across dry lining, internals, finishes, and MEP. The candidate must understand and read drawings and specifications, with the ability to review and drive short-term programs and manage quality, including review of ITPs and inspection of works to confirm specification compliance. The ideal candidate would have experience in masonry construction and installation, including QA. Internal finishes experience is beneficial.
