Job Purpose Responsible for implementing sections of functionality, ensuring they are delivered on time with the correct approach and to the standards defined by the Lead Developer. You will be creating solutions to technical issues, as well as assisting, mentoring and reviewing work from more Junior Developers. Job Purpose As a Senior Technical Architect, you will be critical in designing and implementing innovative and efficient technology solutions that meet our business objectives. Your focus will be on corporate architecture solutions and tools that span Betfred. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Programme Managers, Product Owners, and business stakeholders, to deliver high-quality solutions within specified timelines and serve as a bridge between business and technical stakeholders. Job Duties Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements, define solution objectives, and work with Technical Architects to design end-to-end technology solutions aligned with business goals. Engage with stakeholders, Project Managers, and Technical Architects to gather requirements, provide progress updates, and ensure alignment between business objectives and technical implementation. Discover and document the current technology landscape, highlighting duplication and opportunities for consolidation and simplification. Work with third-party suppliers and manage relationships at a technical level. Design and present conceptual solutions to stakeholders. Assess existing systems, identify integration points, and develop strategies for seamless integration with new and current technologies. Create and maintain detailed solution architecture documentation, including system diagrams, reusable artefacts, technical specifications, and best practices. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluate their benefits and drawbacks, and recommend their incorporation into solutions. Identify potential technical risks and develop mitigation strategies, considering scalability, performance, security, and data integrity. Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Significant experience as a Technical Architect within a software development environment. Strong understanding of software development methodologies, architectural patterns, and technologies such as cloud computing, microservices, APIs, databases, and web tech. Ability to translate complex business requirements into practical technical solutions. Excellent communication skills to engage with stakeholders at all levels and present technical concepts clearly. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for evaluating solutions and making informed decisions. Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams and fostering a positive, innovative environment. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Working as part of the Property Team you will assist with all aspects of Health & Safety for the entire Betfred property portfolio. Responsibilities Management of online Health & Safety portal. Uploading & downloading Health & Safety documents. Arranging regulatory compliance works. Keeping track of passed / failed / remedied sites. Getting quotes for any remedial work from multiple contractors. Instructing suitable contractors. Keeping track of costs for testing & remedial works. Ensuring contractor is up to date with schedules. Review FRA & allocate jobs to relevant people. Responding to EHO requests for documentation. Paying contractors invoices. Identifying high risk sites and prioritising. Ensuring departments are completing jobs allocated to them. Maintain accurate property records for whole estate. Take ownership of H&S issues raised, to resolution ensuring legal compliance. Ensure property testing is kept compliant. Job Purpose We are looking for a Head of Engineering to lead the engineering function for one of our workstreams, which covers a specific area of our technology landscape. Helping us rapidly grow the business and build market share in the UK and emerging new territories. You will be responsible for all Software Engineering and Quality Assurance colleagues and processes in that workstream. Job Duties Lead the execution of engineering best practices within one of Betfred's workstreams. Ensure we have the right capabilities and skills amongst engineers to support and maintain healthy environments, enabling frequent release cadences through automation. Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Ensure teams are correctly sized, resourced, and that process is established, measured and continuously improved. Provide process guidance to the product teams, ensuring maximised throughput and reduced defects. Support the DevOps culture ways of working, ensuring teams have the necessary skills and capabilities. Line manage the Engineering Managers in your workstream. Work closely with support and other technology functions to ensure effective 3rd line support. Support Betfred objectives and help define the goals and strategies for engineering teams. Report back to senior management on engineering personnel, process improvements, and impediments. Encourage learning activities and identify knowledge gaps for training. Champion technical requirements within your workstream necessary to implement Betfred's Technology Strategy. Share learnings and achievements with other streams to level up the organisation. Knowledge, Skills and Experience Proven ability to scale engineering teams in a high-growth business. Up-to-date understanding of modern Software Engineering. Strong focus on Quality Assurance best practices across teams. Experience with Continuous Integration and Deployments. Experience with complex systems in a fast-paced environment. Excellent line management skills, including managing managers. An agile mindset and willingness to optimise workstream for flow of change. Qualifications 5+ years of engineering experience, with at least 3 years in a senior management role. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
