Special Needs Support Worker in Poole! Job Title: Special Needs Support Worker Location: Branksome BH13 Salary: £13.68 Start Date: ASAP Contract Type: Full-Time Hours: 8.45am to 3.45pm 5 days per week Are you a patient, compassionate, and dedicated individual passionate about supporting children with Special Needs? GSL Education are seeking a committed Support Worker to join a welcoming and inclusive school community in Poole , starting ASAP. As a Support Worker , you will play a key role in supporting pupils with severe and complex needs, including communication difficulties, sensory processing challenges, physical disabilities, mobility issues, complex needs and other associated needs . You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and support staff to help pupils access learning, develop independence, and feel confident within the school environment. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in autism support, SEN, care, or behavioural support . DUE TO THE AGE RANGE ON SITE ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE HAPPY TO OBTAIN A CHILD AND ADULT WORKFORCE DBS. THIS IS NON NEGOTIABLE AS IT IS A LEGAL REQUIREMENT FOR THE ROLE. Responsibilities: Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs. Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation, and social interaction. Assist in implementing EHCP targets, behaviour plans, and individual support strategies. Help create a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals. Promote pupils independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing. Follow care plans, safeguarding procedures, and school policies at all times. Requirements: Previous experience working with children or young people with autism or SEN is desirable. A calm, patient, and empathetic approach to supporting pupils with additional needs. Strong communication and teamwork skills. A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude. GSL Education looking for a Level 3 qualified member of staff for our already outstanding team in a nursery in Southampton, SO16. Applicants must have a least 1 years experience working within an early years setting, this does not include training. It is desired that you already hold a first aid, safeguarding, behaviour management and food standards certificate, however, training on this can be given. Qualification must be in childcare. Knowledge of the EYFS is essential. It is desired that you have knowledge and experience in having key children, writing observations and have an understanding of learning journeys. Hours are full time. Hours are usually around 4-4.5 days a week. However, applicants must be flexible and adapt to business needs. We have a primary school in Southampton who have a large EYFS department on site and who require a Nursery Nurse / Primary experienced teaching assistant to support with short term sickness/ holiday cover and ideally seek those with a Level 2 or 3 qualification in Childcare/ equivalent.
