Mind in Havering, Barking & Dagenham is looking for a passionate and committed person to join our Advocacy Service, supporting vulnerable adults to understand their rights, express their views and have a say in important decisions about their lives. We have one vacancy available, with the appointment level dependent on your existing qualifications and experience. If you hold the required National Advocacy Qualification and relevant IMCA/DoLS training, you will be appointed as an Independent Mental Capacity Advocate (IMCA) / Community Advocate, earning £28,954 per annum (£17.40 per hour) for 32 hours per week. If you have the right skills and experience but are not yet qualified, you may be appointed as an Advocacy Project Worker at £15.81 per hour, with support and a clear route to work towards the National Advocacy Qualification. You will work with people across Havering, building trusted relationships and helping ensure their wishes, rights and choices are heard and respected. The role includes casework, working alongside health and social care professionals, community engagement, workshops and promoting self-advocacy. We are looking for someone who is compassionate, organised, resilient and confident communicating with people who may be distressed or facing difficult circumstances. You will need to work independently while also being part of a supportive team.
