Estimator / Senior Estimator Main Contractor Newcastle Salary Open to Negotiation + 5,000 Car Allowance / Company Car + Excellent Benefits Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing Main Contractor to recruit an Estimator or Senior Estimator for their Newcastle office. This is an excellent opportunity to join a collaborative business with a strong pipeline of refurbishment and small works projects across the North East. You'll play a key role in securing future work by managing tenders from initial enquiry through to submission, working closely with clients, subcontractors and the wider pre-construction team. The Role You'll take ownership of tender enquiries ranging up to 5 million, preparing accurate and competitive submissions while identifying opportunities and mitigating commercial risk. You will manage tender enquiries from initial enquiry through to submission, reviewing tender documentation, assessing project requirements and producing accurate Bills of Quantities (BOQs). You'll obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations, prepare detailed cost estimates, identify project risks and value engineering opportunities, and ensure competitive, commercially robust submissions are produced. Working closely with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders, you'll build strong relationships while supporting the successful delivery of refurbishment and small works projects valued up to 5 million. About You We're keen to speak with Estimators from a main contracting background who have experience pricing refurbishment or commercial construction projects. You'll ideally have: Previous estimating experience within a main contractor Strong knowledge of subcontract packages and construction sequencing Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail Good communication and relationship-building skills Existing North East supply chain relationships would be beneficial but are by no means essential What's on Offer? Estimator/Senior Estimator Residential Civils Location: Wakefield Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Benefits Lemon Drizzle Recruitment is working with an established and growing civil engineering contractor looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the appointment of an Estimator. The role will focus on residential civils projects , pricing packages including plot works, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and associated groundworks for major housebuilders across the region. The Role Working as part of the pre-construction team, you ll be responsible for preparing accurate and commercially competitive tenders for residential infrastructure and groundworks projects. You ll review tender documentation and drawings, undertake take-offs, obtain and assess supply chain quotations and build up detailed costs from first principles. Key Responsibilities Prepare estimates and tender submissions for residential civils projects Price plot works, roads, sewers, drainage, earthworks and groundworks packages Carry out quantity take-offs and cost planning Review drawings, specifications and tender documentation Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations Identify commercial risks, opportunities and value engineering options Prepare pricing information for tender reviews and adjudications Work closely with commercial and operational teams Produce detailed handover information for secured projects What We re Looking For Previous estimating experience within civil engineering, groundworks or residential infrastructure Good understanding of residential roads, sewers, drainage and plot works Strong measurement, take-off and pricing skills Ability to interpret drawings, specifications and bills of quantities Good commercial awareness Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Excel Strong communication and organisational skills Why Join?
