The Queer Minds Programme is for LGBTQIA+ individuals (age 18 and above) who live, work, or play in Lambeth or Southwark and wish to connect with others and engage with mental health peer support. Run by us, for us, services include two peer support groups and a trans drop-in, for which we require cover as well as workshops, movement sessions, and community outings for which we may also request occasional cover. We are looking for compassionate and reliable people with personal experience of mental health challenges and LGBTQIA+ group facilitation. Applicants should have experience in supporting or working with marginalised people and demonstrate effective communication skills and professional boundaries with empathy and non-judgment. They will also be able to work independently but collaboratively. Queer Minds is a peer-led service. As such, the successful candidate should be a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, with their own experience of mental ill health. Our IPS (Individual Placement & Support) team helps people with mental health needs achieve their employment goals through a recovery focused, evidence based approach. Embedded within clinical teams, we work alongside employers to remove barriers and create real, sustainable job opportunities. We are currently seeking permanent IPS Employment Specialists to work as part of the community mental health teams and Mental Health Hub. You will deliver the IPS approach (for which training will be given). You will need the ability to motivate and build relationships with participants, strong organisational skills, the confidence to communicate and engage with a range of employers, and a fundamental belief that anyone with a health condition can work. We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds with relevant transferrable skills. Please note that due to the evidence-based nature of the IPS model, the role requires extensive data recording. What we re looking for: Relationship building with employers: Ability to initiate and develop relationships with a variety of individuals, and be able to engage employers using a variety/range of methods such as via the telephone, online platforms or face-to-face in the community. Record keeping: Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate and timely recording of case notes and data, essential for monitoring progress and achieving targets. Collaboration: The ability to work seamlessly within a multidisciplinary team, forging connections and enhancing the overall care experience for participants. Perseverance: The determination to overcome setbacks, find solutions, and continue advocating for participants , even in the face of challenges. Innovation: Bringing fresh ideas to the table, exploring creative ways to break down employment barriers, and promoting inclusive practices within the workplace. The successful candidates will work in line with the 25-points fidelity scale. Successful applicants will be expected to undergo an Enhanced Level Disclosure and Barring Service check.
