About The Role FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a SharePoint Developer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that can be based in London, Aberdeen, Birmingham, Cardiff, Darlington, Edinburgh, or Salford. Our client is seeking an experienced SharePoint migration engineer to join their Knowledge and Information Team. The primary objective is to support the digital heap engagement campaign with one of the departments and ensure that older SharePoint/Teams sites meet modern governance standards, including retention, access controls, and sensitivity labels. As part of this drive, they estimate that the number of internal migrations within the tenancy will increase as sites require restructuring to meet the new best practice model. Responsibilities Use ShareGate migration software to plan and execute site migrations Handle and resolve migration errors Work closely with project managers and clients to understand migration requirements and objectives Run scripts to validate the success of the migration Provide technical expertise and training to team members and clients as needed Troubleshoot and resolve migration issues, ensuring smooth execution Liaise with business units over the migration schedule and questions and concerns that they raise About You Requirements Experience of running data migrations Strong understanding of ShareGate migration software Strong understanding of SharePoint, Office 365, and cloud migration practices Experience in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell, scripting in ShareGate) Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
