To ensure that portion control procedures are maintained ensuring waste is kept to a minimum. To ensure that the necessary systems and checks are maintained in order to provide a safe, healthy and efficient working environment. To ensure all food and other items are stored correctly. To monitor stock, maintain effective stock rotation and place orders where required. To deputise for the Head Chef where required. About you: The successful Second Chef will have relevant experience within a catering environment. You will have a secure understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements, and be able to implement methods to ensure these needs are met. You will also have your Food Hygiene Level 2, and ideally an NVQ Level 2. Assistant Facilities Manager About the role: We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Assistant Facilities Manager to join our friendly support team. This is an office-based role providing essential administrative and coordination support to ensure our care homes remain safe, compliant, well-maintained, and welcoming for our residents, visitors, and colleagues. Working closely with the facilities team and our care home teams, you will help coordinate planned and reactive maintenance, manage contractor communications and maintain compliance records. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical knowledge of buildings and their systems, ideally gained through a hands-on trade background. You will need to be confident in understanding how different elements of a building work together and identifying and resolving technical issues. Key Responsibilities Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance requests across multiple care homes. Liaise with contractors to arrange visits, obtain quotations, and monitor completion of works.
