About the role Help keep one of the UK's most important gas terminals operating safely, reliably, and efficiently. As a Project E&I Technician for our gas terminal in Bacton, you'll undertake installation, inspection, commissioning, operation, and emergency response activities that support the secure transportation of gas across the National Transmission System. The East Region is home to the strategically significant Bacton North Sea Gas Terminal, seven compressor stations, and key technical teams that help keep gas moving across the country. Your work will directly contribute to maintaining critical infrastructure that supports the UK's energy security today and into the future. What you'll be doing Carry out installation, inspection, commissioning, operational, and emergency response activities across terminal assets within your area of competence Manage safe systems of work, including setting work safely for yourself and others, and implementing isolations in line with operational procedures Prepare, review, and accept Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS), and raise permits to work to ensure activities are carried out safely and in accordance with site procedures Maintain accurate operational and maintenance records to support regulatory compliance and business assurance Support the construction, testing, and commissioning of new assets connecting to the gas transmission network Identify opportunities to replace, upgrade, or improve existing plant and equipment, providing technical input to minor modifications and projects Oversee contractor and working party activities, ensuring technical standards, safety requirements, and procedures are consistently met Work towards achieving and maintaining relevant company and site competencies and authorisations, including SCO/91, LV4 and EL96 Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines to maintain safe, reliable, and efficient operations What you'll bring This role would suit someone who enjoys hands-on engineering work, solving operational challenges, and contributing to the safe operation of critical energy infrastructure.
