Are you a detail-focused, highly numerate Quantity Surveyor with a knack for keeping projects on budget and on track? This is a great opportunity for an experienced QS (or Assistant QS looking to step up a level) to join a mid-sized South-West regional contractor in an exciting period of sustainable expansion. The team has been delivering £multimillion projects to quality, time and budget for over 30 years across a range of sectors, including education, local government, health and defence. Reporting to the commercial director, you'll be working closely with project managers, site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to deliver projects on time and within budget whilst maintaining profitability. Duties include: -assisting in preparing tender documents, evaluating subcontractor bids, and negotiating contracts to secure cost-effective suppliers and subcontractors -attending regular site meetings with project teams and client representatives -preparing interim valuations for work completed, managing payment applications to clients, and ensuring timely payments to subcontractors and suppliers -providing regular financial reports to directors, project managers and stakeholders -preparing and negotiating final accounts with the client, ensuring all costs, variations, and claims are settled accurately. Ideally, you'll have a relevant tertiary-level qualification in quantity surveying or construction management, excellent communication skills and a positive, problem-solving mindset. Most projects work to JCT standard forms of contract, but knowledge of NEC could also be beneficial for certain jobs. Job Title: Dryliner Location: Yeovil Rate: £23-£24 Per hour Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and reliable Dryliner to join a busy commercial build in Yeovil. You will be responsible for installing internal walls, ceilings, and partitions using a range of drywall systems.
