Production Operatives Wanted - to start ASAP in Horsham! Shifts available Monday-Friday 2:30pm-10.30pm Pay Rate: 13.51 per hour (rising to 13.77 after 12 weeks on site) Overtime is on offer during busy periods. We're hiring reliable, hardworking people to join our fast-paced teams in both their Final Assembly Green (FAG) team and PCB team . You will assemble and test finished products, follow SOPs, and maintain high quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Assembly/production experience essential. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing team delivering complex Building Management System (BMS) and HVAC solutions across a range of projects. You'll play a key role in producing accurate, competitive cost estimates while collaborating with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure technically sound and commercially viable solutions. This is a fixed-term maternity cover contract with an immediate start preferred to allow for a comprehensive handover, with potential for extension depending on business needs. (Hybrid/Office-based - with occasional UK travel) Contract Role PAY Rate: 26.49 per hour Start Date: ASAP (latest 1st June) Working Hours: 9am-5pm Key Responsibilities Produce accurate, timely, and professional cost estimates for BMS/HVAC systems, including materials, labour, and full project scope Partner with Sales, Design Engineers, and Operations teams to develop cost-engineered solutions Review RFQs and engage early with stakeholders to define requirements and propose suitable designs Develop detailed proposals, including Bills of Materials, assumptions, inclusions, and exclusions Source and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotes to optimise cost efficiency Conduct internal technical and commercial reviews to support approvals and submissions Provide insights from past projects to enhance future estimating competitiveness Support bid processes, customer discussions, and final negotiations Ensure full compliance with internal processes and Health & Safety standards Maintain up-to-date technical and product knowledge Skills & Experience 5+ years' estimating experience in BMS/HVAC or building automation systems Strong technical understanding of major BMS/HVAC platforms Degree-qualified (technical or business-related) or equivalent industry experience Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for professional documentation Proven ability to translate technical solutions into detailed cost models Experience working on complex, multi-stakeholder or international projects Strong communication and stakeholder management skills Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams Desirable: Experience with CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) tools Knowledge of energy solutions and cloud-based services Interview Process: Stage 1: Online technical discussion with BMS expert. The successful candidates will be responsible for the grinding of aerospace components in strict accordance with manufacturing instructions, specifications, and regulatory requirements. Location: Yeovil, Somerset Pay Rate for Night Shift: 19.51 p/h rising to 29.27 once you move to the night shift, Working hours: To begin with you will be working on a Day shift for the first month whilst you're training and you will then move to the night shift Training Hours Monday to Friday 7am until 3.30pm. Night Shift Hours: Hours - 34.5 hours per week Sun (22:00) - Mon (07:00) (8.5 hours) Mon - Thur (00:00 - 07:00) (6.5 hours per day) Key Responsibilities: Internal/External grinding using MDI (Manual Data Input) CNC machinery, surface grinding and thread grinding. OCQ - Operator Control of Quality (i.e. Stamping to confirm quality of assemblies are to Company and Customer standards). To achieve on time delivery by ensuring work is completed on time and to the required standard. Interpreting engineering drawings, following the process layout and documentation procedures. Working effectively in a lean environment. Qualifications and Experience: Engineering Apprenticeship (Desirable but not Essential). Knowledge of grinding tolerances/ finishes to Aerospace Standard i.e. 0.0002" internal/external diameter, 2-4 Micro Inch surface finishes and concentrate of 0.0002". Honing experience. Knowledge of hand measuring equipment such as digital micrometer, comparators, air plug gauges and surface finish measuring equipment. High standard of Health & Safety. Adhering to Company Processes & Procedures. Working in a Customer-focused environment and achieving targets. Working with Designers and Engineers. Skills and Attributes: The position requires the applicant to have an understanding of Aerospace practice and the significance of the safety critical work undertaken. PC literate. Be able to display essential skills in the adherence to Health & Safety standards at all times, teamwork, flexibility and the ability to use initiative. Machining skills are desirable. Proactive and continually looking to develop and learn new skills. Any further training requirements will be provided:- PC skills (incl.
