MEP Design Manager Location: Central London Salary: £75,000 - £80,000 + Benefits Sector: Building Services / MEP Contracting Employment Type: Permanent The Opportunity We are working with a rapidly growing MEP contractor based in Central London who are looking to appoint an experienced MEP Design Manager to join their team. The business has experienced significant growth over the last two years, having doubled its headcount during this period and continuing to secure a strong pipeline of work. They are now looking for an MEP Design Manager who can operate confidently across both design and delivery, working closely with clients, consultants, subcontractors and internal project teams. The role will cover a range of residential and commercial projects, with the successful candidate taking ownership of the design process and ensuring projects move efficiently from design through to construction. The Role As MEP Design Manager, you will be responsible for managing the design process across a number of projects, ensuring designs are technically robust, coordinated and suitable for construction. You will act as a key link between the consultant design team and the contractor's delivery team, using your understanding of both consultancy and contracting environments to identify issues and drive solutions. Your responsibilities will include: Managing the MEP design process from initial stages through to construction and delivery. Reviewing and validating designs produced by external consultants and design teams. Ensuring designs are technically compliant, coordinated and buildable. Managing and coordinating internal and external MEP design teams. Reviewing drawings, specifications, calculations and technical submissions. Identifying design gaps, clashes, discrepancies and potential construction issues. Working closely with Project Managers, Construction Managers and site teams to ensure design information supports delivery. Leading and chairing regular MEP design meetings with consultants, clients, subcontractors and project stakeholders. Managing design programmes, deliverables and deadlines. Coordinating mechanical, electrical and public health design disciplines. Managing the technical approval process and ensuring comments are closed out effectively. Supporting procurement and construction teams with technical and design-related requirements. Providing technical input throughout the construction phase. Monitoring design changes and assessing their impact on programme, cost and buildability. Maintaining strong communication between the design and construction teams. Ensuring projects are delivered in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and project requirements. Requirements The successful candidate will ideally have: Strong experience working within the MEP / Building Services sector. Experience working for both an MEP Design Consultancy and an MEP Contractor or Main Contractor. Previous experience in an MEP Design Manager, Design Manager, Senior Design Engineer or similar position. A strong understanding of both design and construction processes. Experience working on residential and commercial projects. The ability to review and technically validate MEP designs. Experience managing multidisciplinary design teams. Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services. Experience chairing and running design meetings with multiple stakeholders. A good understanding of design coordination, buildability and construction methodology. Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills. The ability to identify problems early and drive them through to resolution. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple design deliverables and deadlines. Revit MEP Coordinator - Contract Central London £35-£38ph OUTSIDE IR35 We are urgently looking for 4 experienced Revit MEP Coordinators for long term ongoing contracts in London. The initial contracts will be for 6 months but we expect these to extend well beyond given current workloads. All of the positions are site based, we require two on a residential project near Covent Garden and two on a Commercial project near Oxford Circus. You will be working on behalf of a MEP Contractor who have been one of the leaders in Central London for the last 20 or so years and work with some of the leading Tier 1's. Typical MEP value tends to be £7mil upwards. Laptops and software will be provided for the duration of the contracts. We will be organising Teams interviews next week with a view to starting immediately We cannot offer sponsorship for this role.
