We are seeking a skilled Plant Maintenance Engineer to provide general mechanical maintenance and electrical support within our maintenance department. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the maintenance and repair of all equipment and facility areas, ensuring optimal operational efficiency and safety. Tasks The key responsibilities and duties of the Plant Maintenance Engineer include, but are not limited to: Maintain and repair all equipment and facility areas to agreed standard, with the ability to identify detailed faults Complete daily checks to machines and equipment, including statuary checks, within skills capabilities and skills approvals To work shift, and provide out of hour call in support Identify spares required in proactive timescales All duties shall be undertaken in compliance with Safety, Environmental Regulations and Company procedures An awareness and understanding of responsibilities outlined in the Company's environmental procedures Requirements The ideal Candidate should meet the following requirements: Preferred mechanical or electrical qualification Apprenticeship preferred but not essential Extensive experience preferably within a similar role within plant maintenance Mechanical/electrical background Working at heights Knowledge of pipework (PVC) Good understanding of pumps & motors Preferred understanding of gas ovens / chiller units / rectifiers Ability to : understand verbal and written instructions use tools and equipment in a safe manner work under pressure with the minimum of supervision Can deal with contractors whilst on site The position requires: understanding of working conditions and environment in a COMAH SITE flexibility in working hours including working overtime at weekends contact with various greases and oils use of overhead cranes understand manual handling use of hand tools and power tools lifting heavy aircraft components good physical strength Mandatory Training will be required Please note you must currently be eligible to work and remain indefinitely without any restrictions in the UK.
