The Senior Compliance Officers will support the General Counsel and Group Head of Compliance in ensuring that their client's across insurance, wealth and employee benefits businesses meet all internal and external compliance requirements. This role is a key part of the wider compliance function, working collaboratively across the business to ensure operations are conducted in line with applicable regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will bring strong compliance experience, ideally gained within financial services, and will provide practical, business-focused support across a broad range of compliance activities. Candidates will be required to work out of our clients offices south of Birmingham on a hybrid basis of 3 days per week and 2 days remote. Responsibilities: Ensure ongoing compliance with FCA and other relevant regulatory requirements, including oversight of regulatory filings, notifications, and reporting. Provide pragmatic regulatory advice, guidance, and challenge to first line teams, acting as an effective business partner and "critical friend." Support the implementation and embedding of regulatory frameworks, including Consumer Duty, Conduct Rules, and SMCR. Maintain and enhance compliance policies, procedures, systems, and records, ensuring they are aligned with regulatory expectations and effectively embedded across the organisation. Monitor regulatory developments and insurance-specific legislation, assessing impact and advising the business on required changes. Identify, investigate, and escalate compliance risks, incidents, and breaches, including root cause analysis and recommendation of remediation actions. Prepare management information, reports, and documentation for senior management, boards, regulators, and audits. Act as a liaison with regulators and auditors, supporting regulatory inspections, audits, and integration activities as required Requirements: Have excellent communication (verbal and written) and be an effective 'regulatory translator' i.e. take complex regulation and make it accessible, understandable and relevant to the business so they have clarity on what is required, and what they need to do. Good problem-solving skills and be solution orientated. Have strong organisational skills and attention to detail but have the ability to take a high-level view. Have excellent stakeholder management skills and be able to build and maintain strong relationships with the business, while also maintaining an appropriate level of professional distance. Be able to act as a 'critical friend' to the business, delivering constructive challenge and identifying solutions to address issues that are identified. Have a strong understanding of the UK's regulatory regime as it applies to general insurance activities. Travel to a range of UK destinations as and when required.
