Complex Care Coach Children's Residential Home - Eversfield, Eastbourne 34,000 pre-probation 35,000 post-probation Full-time We are recruiting experienced, confident residential childcare professionals to join a new high-risk, complex needs children's home in Eastbourne. This service will support young people with significant emotional, behavioural and mental health needs, and as such we are only recruiting at an advanced level. As a Complex Care Coach, you will be paid at a Team Leader salary due to the complexity of the home, but the focus of the role is hands-on, therapeutic care and modelling exceptional practice on the floor. The Young People You'll Support May Present With High-risk and challenging behaviours Significant emotional dysregulation and trauma histories Learning disabilities, autism and ADHD Mental health needs including self-harm and crisis behaviours Poor attachment experiences and boundary difficulties Your Role as a Complex Care Coach Provide consistent, trauma-informed care in a high-risk environment Model calm, confident responses to complex and challenging behaviours Act as a role model and informal mentor to less experienced staff on shift Support young people with routines, regulation, emotional safety and daily living Follow and contribute to robust care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support plans Maintain high safeguarding standards and accurate documentation Work collaboratively with managers, professionals and the wider team Contribute to building a strong, stable culture within a brand-new service What We're Looking For Minimum of 2 years' experience in children's residential care Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or Young Peoples Workforce Proven experience supporting children with complex needs, severe mental health and challenging behaviour Confident, emotionally resilient and able to remain calm under pressure Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional judgement Reliable, consistent and values-led in practice Full UK driving licence (ideal) Working Pattern SuperCare offers a consistent staffing model to support work-life balance and stability! About the Role - Day Coach (Ninfield) This is an exciting moment for SuperCare as we open our new Learning Disabilities children's home in Ninfield . The young people you'll support have a range of needs, including autism, ADHD, ASC, non-verbal communication, epilepsy, Down syndrome and global developmental delay. They rely on patient, consistent adults who understand their routines, sensory needs, emotional regulation, and the importance of predictability. As a Day Coach (Support Worker) , you'll be the steady, caring presence who helps them feel safe, understood, and supported through everyday tasks, challenges, and breakthroughs. What You'll Do As a Day Coach, you'll be immersed in their daily lives, supporting their routines, independence and well being: Support children with ASD, ADHD, ASC or GDD who may experience anxiety, dysregulation, meltdowns or difficulties with transitions. Encourage healthy routines such as waking, meals, personal care, structured activities and learning. Support non-verbal children using communication aids, symbols, visual schedules or alternative communication tools. Monitor and respond to medical needs, including epilepsy management and individual care plans. Help children build independence through tasks like cleaning rooms, organising belongings and washing clothes. Support emotional regulation with patience, gentleness and consistent strategies. Respond to incidents in a calm, child-centred and safe manner, following safeguarding procedures at all times. Drive young people to activities, school or appointments (full UK licence desired due to the remote location) . What We're Looking For We want warm, resilient people who genuinely care about supporting children with learning disabilities: Experience supporting children or young people with autism, ADHD, ASC, non-verbal communication, epilepsy, Down syndrome or global developmental delay . Minimum 1 year experience in a residential childcare setting. Level 3 Diploma in Children's Residential Care (or willingness to complete). Confident supporting behaviours that challenge or moments of dysregulation. Patient, nurturing and able to stay calm when routines change or emotions run high. Comfortable guiding children through personal care, daily routines and independence-building. Able to use communication tools for children who are non-verbal or have limited speech.
