Employee Shift: Monday - Friday 37.5 Hours About the Role As Quality Manager, you will lead and develop the site quality team, ensuring that all products manufactured in our Blackpool bakery are consistently safe, legal, and meet both internal standards and external customer specifications. You will play a key role in driving a strong quality culture across the site, embedding best practices and maintaining compliance at all times. Working closely with the Technical Manager, you will support site-wide quality initiatives and collaborate with the operations team to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. A core part of your role will be to guide the development and implementation of robust corrective action plans, ensuring that quality issues are effectively addressed and sustainable improvements are delivered. Main Responsibilities Ensure full compliance with BRC standards, as well as all customer requirements and partnership codes of practice and specifications Participate in site (bakery) visits and lead or support internal and external audits Manage, coach and develop the site Quality Team, driving high performance and engagement Maintain and continuously improve site quality procedures and SOPs, in alignment with the Quality Systems Manager Act as a key customer-facing representative during audits, visits and review meetings Promote and embed a strong quality culture across the manufacturing site, working closely with the Technical Manager and wider teams to drive continuous improvement Support the delivery of site Technical KPIs, ensuring performance targets are achieved Lead the development and implementation of robust corrective action plans to address customer or consumer concerns and prevent recurrence Conduct thorough investigations into internal quality incidents, including any out-of-specification product, and act as the main coordinator for product recall processes when required Maintain a comprehensive and effective auditing programme that meets the requirements of all internal and external audit bodies Key Ingredients for the role Proven experience managing a quality team within a food manufacturing environment, with a strong ability to lead, motivate and drive team performance Demonstrated capability to identify training and development needs within the quality function, including experience of performance management and disciplinary processes Strong knowledge of BRC standards and major retailer requirements, with the ability to ensure full compliance with customer codes of practice Qualified to Food Hygiene Level 4 and HACCP Level 3, with relevant leadership experience and qualifications Practical experience managing non-conformance systems, including the assessment and disposition of quarantined materials Proficient in IT systems, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word, with the ability to analyse data and produce meaningful trends and insights Diversity Statement FBC UK is committed to building a diverse and inclusive culture in which all employees feel welcomed and appreciated and have the same opportunities. About the Role We are delighted to be recruiting a Hygiene Manager to join our team at our Edinburgh bakery. This is a critical leadership role, responsible for driving site-wide hygiene standards and ensuring our facilities consistently operate to the highest levels of cleanliness, safety, and compliance. You will play a key part in protecting the hygienic integrity of the plant, enabling the production of high quality FBC products every day. Main Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain robust cleaning schedules and documentation across the Bakery. Provide strong leadership, guidance, and support to the Hygiene Team and wider Operations teams. Define and oversee pest control activities to maintain safe, sanitary working conditions across the site. Champion and support initiatives that strengthen hygiene culture throughout the Bakery. Who we are looking for Demonstrated experience in a comparable Hygiene Manager role, ideally within an FMCG environment. IOSH qualification (or currently working towards it). Level 3 Food Safety qualification is desirable. A track record of consistently delivering and maintaining high hygiene standards across a site. Genuine passion for hygiene, food safety, and technical excellence. Experience collaborating with third party service providers. Proven ability to work effectively with Health, Safety & Environment teams to ensure compliance, risk identification, assessment, and control. Strong influencing and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate confidently at all levels. Proactive, results driven approach, with the ability to act quickly and deliver within tight timeframes. Self motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and take ownership.
