The job The Legal & Compliance team at Flo isn't just about rules; they're like the company's navigators, helping Flo grow in the fast-paced world of health tech and AI. You'd be part of a three-person Compliance team, driving key compliance initiatives in a high-growth, fast-paced environment. We're looking for a Compliance Counsel who's proactive, can own projects from start to finish, and partners with product folks to find solutions that are both compliant and smart for the business. Your role: You'll be involved from the very beginning, spotting risks, making complex legal stuff easy to understand, and shaping compliance for cool AI tools like Symptom Checkers. How you'll rock it: Be in on early product chats, finding regulatory hurdles and guiding the team to good solutions. Turn complicated regulations into super clear guidance for everyone. Bake compliance right into Flo's health and AI products. Lead projects across different teams (product, marketing, legal, etc.) to keep Flo ahead. Strengthen Flo's legal game in the EU, UK, and US. Your success will be measured by: How well you help Flo move faster, smarter, and more responsibly, not just by "ticking boxes." Your responsibilities: Taking charge of compliance for new products, features, and marketing campaigns related to the Flo app (health tech), including chatbots, widgets, story feed, AI-enabled features and pro-social activities. Giving clear advice on things like wellness device rules and advertising regulations, e.g. Apple Store and Google Play guidelines, medical and wellness device regulations (FDA and MDR), FTC/ASA rules around marketing and advertising, including, for example, the negative option rule and claim substantiation, DSA and DMA regulations, and geo-blocking regulations. Being a strategic partner in product development, anticipating issues, and finding practical solutions. Working with commercial teams on consumer and competition laws. Helping develop and implement the Compliance Program, including AI governance. What you need: Law degrees (Bachelor's and Master's). At least 3 years of relevant experience. Fluent English. Proactive, results-oriented, team player who thrives in a startup. Can make quick, informed decisions and manage multiple projects solo. Learns fast and adapts to new tech and legal challenges. Experience with tech companies or in-house at a software product company. Bonus points if you have: Experience in consumer law and wellness apps. Experience with AI governance, especially in health tech. Worked with subscription products. Project management skills. Familiarity with agile methods and tools like Jira and Confluence. This role contributes to the product management team's success by optimizing processes, enhancing cross-functional collaboration, managing resources, and ensuring the efficient delivery of high-quality products. You'll work with a (growing!) team of four other detail-oriented people who are unafraid to roll their sleeves up and boldly get into the nitty-gritty. The Product Operations team makes it easier to build things, and this is an opportunity for co-pilot product managers to handle the day-to-day tasks involved with development, influence strategy in how we create, and impact actual change. The position reports to the Head of Product Operations, which involves developing business processes, setting team goals, identifying and developing strategies for team priorities, and analyzing data.
