We now have an opportunity for a Partner to join the growing team, working closely in conjunction with our Head of IP (and recent Yorkshire Lawyer of the Year) James Love. What we're looking for? We're looking for a committed Partner to bring expertise to the team and further enhance and develop our impressive IP practice. You'll need experience in IP disputes across IP rights, as well as with drafting and negotiating IP agreements (such as assignments, licences, confidentiality agreements and research and development agreements). The role will also see you working with our colleagues in the USA. As well as driving our business forward, you'll have an equally important role to play in the development of our people, coaching and mentoring and taking responsibility for their career development. An in-depth sector/market understanding and the impact of trends on clients. The ability to demonstrate a thorough understanding of revenue prioritisation. An effective coach and sounding board for team members giving a clear sense of direction and purpose. The ability to actively seek out opportunities for innovation and create process improvements. A role model with a commercial mind set who ensures efficiency. An external profile as a leader in this field. Our national Property Dispute Resolution team is one of the largest and most highly rated in the UK and we are now looking for a property litigation lawyer to expand our team in Newcastle. You will work as part of our specialist Leasehold Disputes team, acting for freeholders and managing agents. The role is varied and fast-paced, offering a mix of volume and complex advisory work. What will you be doing? In this role, you'll manage a varied caseload of leasehold disputes from start to finish, including preparing and pursuing court claims for ground rent, service charges, and other arrears. You'll advise clients on breaches of lease and enforcement options, draft pleadings and witness statements, and handle both defended and undefended claims through to resolution. Alongside core work, you'll tackle complex issues such as disrepair claims, Section 20 consultations, insolvency related lease enforcement, and technical queries on lease interpretation. Client engagement is key-you'll attend meetings, provide clear and timely advice, and support business development through training sessions, workshops, and industry events. What does the ideal candidate look like? We're looking for a proactive, commercially minded lawyer with a passion for property litigation and leasehold disputes-or a strong desire to develop expertise in this area. You'll thrive managing a busy caseload, communicating confidently with clients, and delivering practical, solution focused advice.
