The centre operates a programme of activity, which has four clear strands: Commercial business meetings, private celebrations and events A wide range of clubs and societies Local voluntary groups Internal JRHT and JRF meeting space. The Folk Hall is a multi-use venue and a hub for local community activity. It is open daily and has in the region of 200,000 attendees per year at a range of meetings and events or to make use of the Post Office, library or café. It is a vital community hub which is used by local residents as a place to meet, eat and socialise as well as by businesses, charities, the health service, vulnerable users and social groups who all book rooms for meetings. The postholder will be fully involved in identifying, managing and resolving the challenges that this will bring over the next twelve months. The purpose of the Facilities Support Assistant is to assist with the smooth running of the Folk Hall and all its activities so that the building is safe and welcoming for members of the public and our staff and complies with all the relevant regulations. The Facilities Support Assistant also undertakes a range of planned preventative maintenance, monitoring tasks and general duties at the Folk Hall as well as minor repairs where required. You will be given a free uniform to wear as well as a staff discount should you wish to purchase food or drinks in the Folk Hall Café. Hours of work The role includes regular early morning, evening and weekend hours, with early shifts starting at 7 am and late shifts ending up to 11pm or later on occasion. All shifts are planned and communicated in advance and on a rolling rota basis, early shifts and late shifts on alternate weeks. You will also be required to work regular Saturdays. In this role, you will work collaboratively and proactively with the Procure to Pay Team, the JRHT and JRF Embedded Finance Teams, Group Central Services, and a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, while championing the continuous improvement of procedures and processes. You will take responsibility for approving and processing HSBC priority payments in line with the Bank Mandate, providing Civica Financials administration cover to the Finance Systems Owner, and ensuring all reconciliations are completed, recorded, checked, and appropriately signed off across the cash book, Cx/CF, Creditors Ledger and Debtors Ledger. You will play a key role in meeting month-end and year-end closedown deadlines, authorising non-supplier creditors and general ledger journals, and investigating and resolving queries and anomalies within Accounting Services. The role also involves providing cover for the Senior Accounting Services Analyst on rent and tenancy charge changes and liaising with External Auditors on routine transactional audit requests, providing a bridge between the audit team and colleagues and coordinating the flow of audit requests in the process. About you We are seeking a candidate with strong, demonstrable experience of transactional processes within a Finance Department, supported by an AAT qualification, part-qualified CCAB status, or equivalent experience.
