Job Description: We are seeking an experienced Panel Wirer to join our engineering team at Heathrow Airport , working within a cargo handling environment . This is a long-term opportunity focused on upgrading legacy Siemens Simatic S5 PLC systems to the newer S7 platform . Key Responsibilities: Panel wiring and assembly for control panels used in automated cargo systems. Support the removal and replacement of legacy Siemens S5 PLCs with S7 PLCs, including wiring modifications and panel reconfiguration. Interpret and work from electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Install, terminate, and test field wiring, I/O modules, sensors, and actuators. Collaborate closely with control engineers and project teams to ensure system functionality and minimal downtime. Conduct site surveys, cable routing, and installation in operational airport environments. Follow all Heathrow Airport safety regulations and permit-to-work procedures. We already have a decent established team on site but require experienced cable pullers to pull a mixed selection of 15mm to 90mm cables. Particulalry with the larger armoured, you will need to be physically fit and have strong experience in this field. If you are also at electrical improver level, there is a longer run of work for you on this project.
