Responsibilities Description of Role As Safety & Security Installation Engineer you will be responsible for: We are seeking a motivated Safety & Security Engineer to join our delivery team, supporting the successful rollout of physical security projects across the UK and EMEA. In this role, you will work alongside senior engineers to assist with the configuration, testing, commissioning, and documentation of access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a technical background who is looking to grow their career in the physical security industry. Training and development will be provided to help you progress within the team. Qualifications For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required. Key Responsibilities: Assist with the delivery of physical security projects, including access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection systems. Support the configuration, testing, and commissioning of security systems under the guidance of senior engineers. Prepare project documentation such as commissioning reports, asset lists, and handover packs. Provide on-site and remote technical support during project delivery. Troubleshoot basic system issues and escalates complex problems to senior team members. Ensure compliance with security standards (e.g., GDPR, CPNI) and health & safety regulations. Participate in training and development to build knowledge of security systems and technologies. Qualifications & Experience: 1-3 years' experience in a technical engineering role (physical security, electrical, or IT fields preferred). Familiarity with access control, CCTV, or intrusion detection systems is desirable but not essential. Basic understanding of IP networks and structured cabling. Strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn new systems. Good organizational skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Willingness to travel across the UK and EMEA as required. Industry certifications (e.g., manufacturer training on Lenel, Genetec, Milestone) are a plus but not required - training will be provided. Full driving license and Passport required. Multi-skilled across multiple technologies and product ranges, our engineers possess a wide range of knowledge built up over many years. Install, Commission and Servicing of our wide range of enterprise level CCTV and access control solutions Retrofit upgrades / extensions to existing systems as part of remedial works packages. Provide high levels of customer services. Understanding site plans, to allow installs to take part based on site survey documentation. Reactive call outs to site, with an aim to provide a first-time fix. Provide on-site technical support and solutions to customers during both reactive and planned visits. Complete documentation in line with company standards. Work within strict H&S guidelines. Work as part of a 24/7 on call rota. Advise customers on the latest products and services to improve efficiency. Qualifications For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required. Skills: Good people management skills Technical expertise in predominant skillset area Competent admin skills with sound working knowledge of internal business system. You will be responsible for owning and delivering technical integration and configuration in the companies safety and security technology solutions and services. Delivering both internally and externally, you will play a key role in the sectors safety and security support and services. This role will report to the Operations Manager - Defence and Justice and include a programme of mentored training and development to assist the individual as required, but also with a view to future progression and succession planning. For development purposes the following knowledge, skills and experience are required. Surveys, design, implementation, quoting, commissioning and customer support Adhering to compliance requirements for Health and Safety, Environmental, Quality, Information Security and Data Protection relevant to your job, function and location. Install, configure, and commission security systems: Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection. Complete project documentation: test results, commissioning reports, as-builts, and handover packs. Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure smooth project execution. Support health & safety compliance on client sites. Qualifications Provide technical support to Sales to design solutions. Experience of configuring and integrating S&S solutions and designs 3-5 years' experience delivering physical security projects (access control, CCTV, IDS). Proven structured cabling experience - including installation, termination, and testing of copper and fibre systems. Strong knowledge of physical security systems (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, Avigilon, Honeywell etc). Good understanding of IP networking as it relates to physical security (PoE, VLANs, addressing). Industry certifications (e.g., Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, structured cabling certifications) are a plus. Full driving license.
