As Vice President of Global Investment Operations, you will lead a high-impact team responsible for the operational backbone of our investment platform. This role is critical to ensuring the integrity, efficiency, and scalability of our investment operations across global markets. You will oversee core functions such as trade settlement, cash and collateral management, derivatives lifecycle oversight, and position reconciliation, while supporting front office investment teams and maintaining strong relationships with custodians and counterparties. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Define and execute the strategic direction for Investment Operations in alignment with firm wide investment goals. Monitor global regulatory developments and assess their impact on investment products, operational workflows, and risk exposure. Communicate operational strategy and priorities clearly across teams and senior stakeholders. Operational Oversight: Manage daily operations supporting a diverse range of asset classes and investment vehicles, including complex and emerging products. Ensure timely and accurate trade confirmation, settlement, and reconciliation across global markets. Oversee cash management and derivatives lifecycle processes to support portfolio managers and traders. Risk & Compliance: Implement and maintain a robust control framework to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks. Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements across jurisdictions. Technology & Change Management: Lead system implementations and enhancements to support new investment strategies, regulatory changes, and operational efficiencies. Drive automation and process improvements to scale operations and reduce manual risk. Relationship Management: Partner with custodians, brokers, and counterparties to ensure high service standards and resolve operational issues. Collaborate with internal teams across Investment Management, Compliance, Risk, and Technology. Financial Stewardship: Manage departmental budgets, identify cost saving opportunities, and ensure efficient resource allocation. Project Leadership: Lead cross functional initiatives and global projects, delivering results on time and within budget. Required Qualifications Minimum of 10 years of experience in investment operations within asset management, banking, or financial services. Proven leadership experience managing global teams and complex operational functions. Deep understanding of trade lifecycle, derivatives, cash management, and reconciliation processes. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks impacting investment operations (e.g., SEC, CFTC, EMIR, MiFID). Experience with investment operations systems and platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Aladdin, SWIFT). Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive process improvements, and manage risk effectively. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, economics, or related field; advanced degree (MBA or CFA) preferred. Where you'll fit in & what our team goals are The Corporate Taxation team is based in the UK, as part of Columbia Threadneedle Investments (CTI) and is responsible for Corporation Tax, VAT and Tax Reporting across EMEA and APAC. CTI is owned by Ameriprise Financial Inc ('Ameriprise') and the Corporate Taxation team reports into and works closely with the Ameriprise tax team who report to the Ameriprise Chief Financial Officer. As part of the overarching risk management framework, the Corporate Taxation team works closely with the business and is informed and consulted on business changes, in order to proactively identify tax risks and to ensure that the level of risk is well understood and within acceptable parameters.
