Reporting into the Sales Manager, you will join a small but experienced team, inheriting new and warm accounts within the chemical manufacturing sectors. What you will be doing: Developing relationships with new and established customer accounts, listening to customer requirements and presenting appropriately to increase sales Maintaining and developing relationships with existing and new customers via telephone calls and emails Using CRM to develop sales pipeline and manage tasks Seek new business, whether it is new products from existing customers, or new customers Gaining a clear understanding of customers' businesses and requirements Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales Gathering market and customer information Negotiating price, costs, delivery and specifications with buyers and managers Making accurate, rapid cost calculations and providing customers with quotations Advising on forthcoming product developments Recording sales and order information and sending copies to the administration office in line with the procedure Liaising with the administration office to check the progress of existing orders Reviewing your own sales performance, aiming to meet or exceed targets Attending sales meetings and sharing best practice with colleagues What you need: Some experience in a sales, customer service, office or commercial environment Experience of communicating with customers confidently by phone, email or face to face Your own vehicle and driving licence (preferable) Experience within the chemical industry (preferable but not essential)

A long established manufacturer of personal care products has partnered with Woodstock Recruitment to assist in the hire of a new Development Chemist to their team. Joining an existing, long serving and collaborative team of chemists and technicians, you will join the business, bringing with you a relevant qualification in cosmetic science or chemistry and/or some experience within the cosmetic and personal care manufacturing industry. Applications are encouraged from junior through to senior chemists in the industry. Key responsibilites: Development of new products in response to customer briefs and changing market requirements: Assisting the commercial team in the conception of new products Formulating products within pre-determined parameters of safety, cost, function, customer and local legislation requirements Selecting/ sourcing new materials Developing suitable methods of product analysis Co-ordinating stability, preservative efficacy testing and performance testing Work with third party providers to identify and organise suitable claims support substantiation Identify and evaluate relevant patents to ensure project work does not infringe other patents Creation of BOM s, MOM s, QC specifications and bulk standards Assist in the handover process of new products to full scale production and assist in troubleshooting problems Liaise with the NPD team and internal stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery of projects, communicating the technical status in a clear, accurate and timely manner Monitor trends and generate ideas on products, ingredients, packaging and the cosmetics market overall: Attend raw material supplier s technical meetings, trade shows Liaison with external suppliers to understand their capabilities and identify potential new development or cost saving opportunities Help prepare and present innovative new formulations and market analysis to both internal and external customers Providing technical support and advise to commercial and other members of the NPD team Skills, experience and qualifications: Degree in Cosmetic Scienc Chemistry or related field Sound post-graduate experience and understanding of cosmetic product formulation Understanding ofcosmetic/ chemical legislation and guidelines Please note - Applicants must hold pre-settled, settled or otherwise have indefinite leave to live and work within the UK unrestricted.

Do you have previous quality experience working in a factory / manufacturing environment? Do you have prior experience of working within an FMCG environment, such as food, chemicals, personal care or cosmetic manufacturing? Have you worked within a GMP manufacturing environment? Key responsibilities: Involvement in all consumer and customer complaints ensuring that all complaints are investigated and appropriate actions taken to ensure consumer and customer confidence is maintained To be the first point of contact should any complaint or non conformity be raised. Ensuring that all stock is quarantined and that root cause analysis is completed. Manage the HACCP review and associated reports and documents Manage the GMP audit system ensuring a fair and clear assessment of operational standards Assist in the management of supplier non-conformances ensuring timely communication for resolution Assist in the management of all site external calibrations ensuring full compliance to accreditation and customer requirements Support Production by carrying out line quality checks Prepare reports for weekly Quality meeting where required Carry out QESH internal audits as required To promote Health & Safety policy and procedure, ensuring a safe working environment at all times When requested to provide cover within the Quality Lab or to support the Technologist during absences or busy periods.
